Can only be a good thing if it raises awareness amongst us, blokes are notoriously bad when it comes to certain health issues.

Always best to have a regular checkup. It may feel a little uncomfortable, but not catching it early cab be a lot worse.

Had my first digital rectal examination aged 49 last month as part of a BUPA health check. I’d psyched myself up for a really unpleasant experience.

The female doctor who did it had a good rummage around, and I felt almost nothing. No nerves up there, so nothing to make it uncomfortable. I guess the slender fingers helped - at least it wasn’t a rugby playing male doctor with big fat fingers, lol.

Having had TC 12 years ago, and at the time I didn’t present to the doctor until it had spread, I don’t mess around these days.

I was diagnosed 18 months ago, had all the biopsy’s, doing active surveillance my cancer has not grown
