Stunning work, you are gifted! Would personally keep it as is so no aged lume and true black and white.
Amazing how you captured the dome and the distorted dial in it.
Hand drawn artwork by myself (unfinished: Work In Progress) :) Ink on A4 Paper.
I just thought I would post this up for fun. I am having a lot of fun putting this original together. :)
I haven't drawn a watch lately so I thought I would have a go at this legendary vintage piece.
I can't decide whether to leave it black and grey... or whether to use a Prismacolor pencil and totally replicate the aged lume this... but either way... I am having fun drawing it.
I have only just put in the black dial... so hopefully it is making the light pop on it and that the light refraction is showing up well due to the domed crystal?
Guess the model? Anyway... it has a domed acrylic crystal. :)

Wow that looks great!!! Looking forward to seeing more. Are you planning on selling prints?
Looking good.
5513 ?
Nice! I've never been able to draw and have always been a bit envious of those that can! Good work
Very cool.
I look forward to seeing the finished product.
That looks brilliant greg. Nice to see you back too :)
You have some talent there. 🖒

That does look fantastic.
Thank you very much. I am not 100 percent sure. Possibly just the original, framed, to keep it unique and rare. I am just at the drawing stage really. I have been stuck doing portrait commissions lately... not my favourite type of work... so this is just an 'escape' drawing. Watches are too niche in general to draw, sadly.
Indeed the 5513. Good call. :) And thank you. :)
Thank you very much. :)
Me too. Thank you.
Thank you verv... very kind. Nice to see you too. :)
Cheers. :)
Thanks to all. :)

That is just incredible, very clever, as for Lume I think it would look equally good either way, sorry I wasn't much go in the decision.

Maybe a vintage stepped dial Speedmaster with aged lume for your next project?

Nice work.
Are you working off a photo or the watch?
Thank you. And no worries. I am quite torn. I am on an art critique forum... and may ask there. Decisions decisions.
Yeah. I did a Speedie before. This could be a great idea as I own my own vintage aged lume piece. I can take my own pics. Good call. :)
Thank you very much. :)
Have you thought about actually using luminous paint for the lume plots?
I'll keep that thought in my head.
I have some Canson art boards here that I got from America. Ink takes well on those... I could perhaps do myself a test piece and see how it goes. And the main thing... is there lume paint with that same creamy look as what faded lume looks like here.
Thanks again mate. :)
Looking great. Can't wait to see the finished product.

Looks fantastic so far, Greg! I also love the way you have replicated the distortion of the markers under (what looks like) the Superdome crystal.
I wanted to be an artist when I was young and was on course up until reaching my O Levels when I had a big moment of self doubt as I was very good at copying but not at making compositions up. I made the mistake of dropping Art; it was only until I started my A levels that I took the O Level Art and passed it, but by then it was too late to do the A level.
I used pencils for the most part and used to grind lead onto paper and use a piece of tissue to pick up the powdered lead and rub onto the drawing to give a muted shading effect...it worked with things like glass :)
Anyway, keep going - looks like the final piece will be a knockout!
That's very nice work,Greg.
I could not draw or paint to save my life.
Keep going because it is bearing fruit.
