IWC Mark XI RAF issued military watch

Saw this today from a friend who wanted more information on it, thought some people here might find it interesting.

From the markings on the case back it was RAF issue from 1952. 36mm case nicely marked up :) fixed lugs.

Movement is a calibre 89 I believe, antimagnetic, dial and hands look ok. Cant work out if the dial is a replacement as I believe the originals were radium lume? Anyone know for sure?

Happy to hear peoples thoughts and input on the watch.

    Sorry for the poor pictures...

1952 watch with a 1963+ replacement dial. Same as mine. Rarer ones have a hooked 7.

    My favourite watch.

Beautiful and a true grail watch for me (meaning that I will probably never see one, much less own one)!

Very nice, with a hooked 7 dial it would almost be my perfect watch. (Millsub = perfect, mkII = Bleedin close)
I am wearing my poor man's version, Hamilton 6B today.

    A very nice watch.
At least no one is mentioning Veblen watches on this thread.
The photos are good. Thanks to the OP for posting them.
They make me think I should look at vintage watches more but I'll confess my total ignorance of such now.
