    Omega Olympic Collection

“Only 100 Limited Edition sets have been made, representing the 100 years of timekeeping that OMEGA will reach in 2032

Now releasing watches to celebrate an anniversary happening in the future, well into the future!

I speak as an Omega user.

For me Omega using the term(s) limited / special edition have lost all meaning

Well, it's true; Omega use these terms too loosely and devalue the brand . But in the process they make some nice watches, which still deserve to be judged on their own merit . Not as 'special editions' but as decent watches. I admire Rolex for avoiding this trap, but weaker manufacturers have to find ways to market their stuff in a tough environment. Have mercy!

What number would you say makes something genuinely limited?

I know right, image how tragic it would be for Rolex to take one of their less popular models, say a Deep Sea, give the dial a different colour and link it with a Hollywood movie director. It'd never happen not in a million years.

Don't they just periodically change the bezel colour to create rarities?

Back to the watches in question: I believe they could have been a lot worse. I’m quite taken with them.
