It’s very technical and tactical; it draws you in like snooker.
I was particularly impressed with the Japanese captain’s attempts to thread the eye of a needle so to speak in the ninth end. It cost them the match but, for a couple of inches, could have won them the match!
It’s not like snooker, it’s like bowls. And just as fascinating (not).
Which is not to say it doesn’t require skills, hard work and a competitive edge. Just that it really boils the content on my bladder to have the same match on both bbc channels (1 or 2 and red button) when one of the UK teams is playing.

Agreed, it’s more like bowls as a sport but what I said was that it draws you in like snooker. I mean that you find yourself engrossed in it even when you’ve no real intention of watching it.
I also agree that it’s poor form on the BBC’s part to show the same thing in two channels at the same time.
I am a big fan of the Norway Ladies Curling team. Well, three of them anyway.
How can this be classed as 'sport'?
1 person hurls a lump of stone down an ice rink
2 people with brushes with sweeping like they've got cleaning OCD at the other end

Maybe, but it's the sight of Eve Muirhead sliding down the ice shouting 'Yes, No, Harder, Harder' that makes it a must watch for me ;-)

I had a go at curling on a skiing holiday once, it's actually quite hard work!
I watched a bit at the weekend, but found it was more a reverse of the process described earlier - The more I watched, the less I enjoyed it and there's something really unpleasant about the acoustics that makes all the shouting (by the women) particularly jarring (or maybe they all have really annoying voices this time?).
Doesn't do it for me, I'm afraid, although I can see the skill.
Fortunately, there's been some proper ski racing now

Whilst there are many lines of condescension that should never be attempted on a watch forum; another pastime's ability to induce boredom has to be top of the list.

Not sure I would go out of my way for it, but in the spirit of the games, I have enjoyed it.
GBR vs CAN was a really good game. Obviously an added bonus that the ladies are rather fit :)
