Never seen this before but recently noticed a white powder like build up on my external porch wall, it brushed off but came back within a day or so!
It only effects an area three bricks across and four bricks up, its above the damp layer.
It was a lot more then this before I brushed it off.

Can be a bugger to eradicate...
Looks like a new porch to me (fresh pointing). If so, it’ll stop after a while and get washed off with the weather.
Ok thank you, it’s in a covered porch above the damp layer and never had it there over the 6 years I’ve been here, the only thing which has changed is my wife has placed two large potted olive trees which now shadow this area.Originally Posted by aldfort

As others have said it will get better over time as it nothing to worry about.
