    Office chat: Belt Direction

    Right chaps,

My day was very slow and I had noticed some slight dress-related oddities around the office which got me wondering: which way do you wear your belt?

I think I am in the minority here - I feed my belt through to the right so the excess is pointing to my right. Incidentally (and potentially related?) I am left handed and wear my watch on my right wrist.

So, 3 random questions for you all:

    1. Which way do you wear your belt (excess to the left or right?)
    2. Dominant hand?
    3. Which wrist do you wear your watch?

I shall use the results as the basis for a very scientific paper.

    To answer the question LRL.

What I find troubling are those people who do not wear a belt.

Not sure why I wear my watch on my dominant hand. Just always have.

Used to be left for the watch, but switched to right when I started my first job using cad with mouse in left and kept catching the bracelet on edge of the desk. Curiously, 12yrs later, a trapped nerve knackered my left arm so had to switch mouse to right hand, but never had a problem. Arm got better but I've stuck to mouse in the right as I find it easier to mouse right, type left for the last 8yrs

    If suit trousers:

A gentleman should never wear a belt with a suit.

(A suit should have side adjusters)

    For a belt?

As for 'suspenders', it really does depend which side of the pond you live on.

A bloke wearing suspenders in my part of the world would be treated with caution.

A long-standing friend of mine has started dressing as a bloody woman recently and started doing just this, bumped into him (her?) last week and it almost put me off my beer. He was definitely wearing suspenders to keep his stockings up, his skimpy mini-skirt didn`t cover as much as perhaps it ought to. A very strange encounter, whilst he sipped his pint through a straw he was bragging about being able to get into a size 14 skirt..........you couldn`t make it up.

To be fair that's some achievement - I haven't tried but I doubt I could get into a size 14 skirt! That said, I've had enough trouble trying to get into size 8-12 skirts when they've been worn by various members of the opposite sex too!
It's just a matter of time...

    Right, right, left.

I’m assuming all those early responders misread Q1 as I don’t believe so many right-handers have their belt excess on the left.

You’ll find size 16-20 skirts worn by members of the opposite sex generally easier to get into Scott.
