    Watches you don't wear enough...

Some buying my aqua terra golf it has mainly been a weekend watch. I have worn out for the last 5 weeks as a daily and am loving wearing it. Need to wear it more often.

My favourite G-Shock, which I think cost me 20 quid. The battery died about four years ago and I never had it replaced. That can be my weekend job!

None although if you had asked the question a few years ago i would have said many.

Reduced the collection to 3 and they all get a good outing.

It's now one in one out and it works for me.

Was finding the bracelet created a look of too much metal so this wasn't getting nearly enough wrist time so I yesterday stuck it on a black croc and it's (to my eyes at least) transformed and reborn. Honeymoon can begin again

That made me sell the whole collection, except for one.

    This one:

I like the idea of the watch and it's nice to know it's there as an option, but it rarely seems to make it onto the wrist.

My 15300. I used to wear it quite a bit until a very small accident made me realise what a scratch magnet it is.

Yes I know, that's normal and watches are bought to be worn...

My Zenith Type 20, beautiful watch, but when I go to pick-up, wind & wear, I always plump for something else, telling myself I'll wear it tomorrow. It's probably because it's LNIB & I don't want to put a mark on it. Irrational I know, but this watch game effects some strange behaviour from some of us, does it not?

Don't think this one's ever been out of the house in 12 months of ownership.

I love this Oysterquartz but seem to have moved to tool/divers over the past six months or so and haven't worn it.

    Cheers

My LLD no date has not been worn the last couple of months, when I take it out I wear it for a few minutes and go for my Vulcain instead with a similar look.

I love that what model GP is it? Let me know if you really don’t wear it as I would.

Mine would have to be my Tudor black bay steel. I have the 79220b which I love and I grab that as opposed to the steel.

Surprising one here but for me its the Speedy... I probably wear it once a month at most...

The date thing catches me at work and I tend to wear CWC at the weekends now.

Great idea. A potential swap/trade thread. I always ask for trades in any sales post and this has given me a chance to try lots of watches over the years I probably would not have sought out.

Looks quite jean Richard terrascope in design. Are the companies linked (a la Tudor / Rolex?). The DNA to me seems obvious.

Thanks for the kind words, gents.

It's a Vintage 1960, ref. 2598. I love the simplicity and legibility the central-minutes feature, and wish that more chronographs made use of it. One fewer subdial and a much easier and more-intuitive readout than a typical 30-minute counter — what's not to like? About the only drawback I can think of is that it increases the hand stack by a millimetre or so.

I only have this wrist shot for now...

...but I found the one from the previous owner that first made me take interest:

It's thick-ish watch, but the long, curved lugs and very slim caseback make it hug the wrist nicely. I really should wear it more often.

  38. #38
Is it a 24hr chronograph? And two centre seconds hands, one for chrono one for the watch seconds?

If so, that's bloody lovely and far far superior to any other chrono I've owned!

May I ask the height of the watch, from lug to lug?

    That GP chronograph is lovely!

I know it might be indelicate to ask, but what does something like that go for?

  40. #40
    Thanks. :)

The running seconds are on the right subdial, while the left one is a 24-hour indicator. The central hand with the arrow tip shows the chronograph minutes, while the other is the chrono seconds, meaning that the timing display is entirely on the large main dial.

I suppose that the left subdial could have just as easily been for the chrono hours, but they chose not to for some reason. Either way, I absolutely love the design and details of the dial.

Cost-wise, though they don’t appear to come up for sale very often, the prices don’t seem much more than what a modern-era Speedmaster might go for.

None. I have three: two for weekdays, which I rotate each day, and one for the weekend/holidays.

I would hate to spend decent money on a watch and then not wear it - it would just irritate me.

  42. #42
Pretty much all of them, unfortunately just driven by ergonomics - spending 9 hours at a desk with my wrist propped up becomes uncomfortable and I end up taking it off anyway. The flip-side is now whenever I actually to go wear a watch it feels considerably more eventful.

All of mine too. I have a manual job machining on CNC and manual m/cs so wearing a watch isnt practical.
It's only at the weekend when i get to wear them.

For me it's my Aerospace which I used to wear the most due to it's practicality. But a new favourite has displaced it.

Seiko SNA411 flightmaster. Purchased on a bit of a whim and probably worn it less than a dozen times in 3 years!
