My first attempt to fix anything! SKX009J

    Hi!

So I dropped my Skx and being a complete noob I thought I ruined it...

I decided to open it and try to fix it...

    The problems are:

    1) The dial spins around
    2) The rotor makes a scratchy sound

    Problem number 1: Unsolved

So once opened I found out that the dial is held in place by two little feet that in my case broke off

Now do I need a new dial or do you know any method to fix it?
If I need a new dial where do I buy it?

    Problem number 2: Solved

I understood that the noise was created by the fact that the rotor was too loose and was rubbing against the movement.
So I tightened the screw showed in the picture and the rotor now makes no noise.

I'm so happy that I'm fixing it by myself!! It's the best feeling in the world!

Thank you in advance for your replies!

I hope you can help me! :D

Just get a new dial, either eBay (there’s sellers that Mod skx’s and sell the original dials) or cousins sell them still IIRC. They aren’t expensive either.

You could send the dial to someone and get the feet soldered back on but he dials are so cheap.

Ah right, Japanese variant apologies. Yes probably eBay abroad is only buying option there.

Or maybe one of the chaps with a dial foot soldering machine would do it as it may be they’d do it for circa £20?

There are a few UK sellers for £30
You could use some dial dots to reattach it
