Bought Rolex bracelet 78360 from ebay help

    Gents,

I bid on a bracelet for my 1973 1675 off ebay and got booked on it.

    The link is here:
    https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rolex-Oys.../112707540328?

I am not an expert on bracelets...

    A few questions:
*does it look in good conditions from the pics?
    *does it look full length?
*it appears to have 558 end links. Will it fit on the 1675 or do i need 580 end links?

Thanks in advance for the help.

    Eric.

Yes full length. 580s are best.

You need pictures which show stretch.

Verv will be along shortly to explain she is not a sir.

580's can be picked up for around £150.

Ok thank you Lee. Seems like i may have overpaid for the bracelet the at £550 with the wrong endlinks. Thought endlinks would be a lot cheaper. If it works out too expensive, i may just abort the whole thing and return the bracelet.

How can you return an eBay purchase if you don’t like or want it ?

The bracelet was described as fitting a GMT when it clearly won’t without the correct end links.

Rolex ADs can order them from the mother ship. I think they're about 150.
558s may work as a short term measure but they're made for thinner spring bars iirc.

Based on the pics, it was attached to a 5513 (based on Rolex invoice).

I found out that 558 end links were specifically made for the Explorer.

It does look as if endlinks can 'sort of' work with different models. I don't really like to have the non real thing.

Thank you again Verv. Out of interest, do you know if you can buy brand new 78360 bracelets from dealers and at what price?

Doesn't actually matter. eBay will let you return and refund you all costs. Bit crap on the seller if you mispurchased it despite having all the needed info though, but eBay is a buyer's market.

This ^. Someone just bought a 34mm watch from me, 34mm clearly stated, he thought it was too small. Ebay automatically accepted the refund on my behalf, nice of them. So he has to send it back at his cost, but I don't get the postage to him back. Buyers market indeed.

It's unfortunate, but the reason why I've never used eBay to sell. It seems as the seller you can get shafted from every angle, with eBay sitting there assisting the shafter.

Are you not obligated as a dealer to accept a return within 14 days any way ?

Yes, but it would have been nice to have been able to accept the refund myself.

Yes they should still be available. I think you'd be looking at over a grand if the 93150s are anything to go by.
I don't think the one you've bought looks bad.

I have cancelled the transaction altogether since the seller sent me other pics of the bracelet and there was way too much stretch. Plus i would have had to buy 580 endlinks on top making it uneconomical.

Thank you for the help everyone... it means that my search for a 78360 with 580 endlinks continues.

I find that the 93150 with 580s looks and feels better with the 1675. Chunks it out a but and has fliplock security.

Prefer the slimmer look of the 78360. Very personal though.
