Manchester Spring Get-together 2018 25th March

Kirk has liaised with The Management and the date of the next Manchester Get-together (MCGTG) is settled as March 25th usual venue.

Kirk suggests a rollcall on this initial post, so here goes:

If we start by all adding our support, I think it will stir him into action.

Same venue as last time? (same food too - that was well worth a fiver!)

I'm free any Sunday in March I believe - with the possible exception of the last one, 25th.
Saturdays are a possibility but I'll need a good bit of notice.

See what pleases the masses.

Well, it's up & running. With those so far committed + one other definite we have a live one.
Same venue (not announced on the pubic forum for security reasons - PM me or Kirk for details); same food (cold buffet @ £5 per head subject to Captain Kirk's good offices in arranging).
Next hurdle - date.
Sunday 4th
Sunday 11th
Sunday 18th
Sunday 25th.

Sunday as we have a couple of regulars who usually work on Saturdays.

Kirk is in deep with the venue and will come up with available options; 18th is fine by me.
We have our own room at no cost, so we can afford to fit in with them.

I’m currently in the venue with Zelig...

25th March it is. 12:30 pm onwards. (11th is Mother’s Day!)

The usual large buffet has been ordered!

Edit: I should have pointed out that Zelig and I were in TZ attire. Tweed and brogues. Although I was disappointed to see that Z was without a pocket square. (I suppose I can’t talk...I was only wearing half-brogues.)

May be worth mentioning that this is not a closed shop; anyone who can access Manchester centre on Sunday 25th (easy access from all directions via pubic transport) is most welcome to pop in.
All you need is an interest in watches and a desire to brush away the anonymity of forum names to reveal real humans who love a bit of horological banter.
Although the venue is on licensed premises, someone once told me that they do sell non-alcoholic beverages, so it doesn't even have to turn into a binge. We once had a particularly young enthusiast come along to one with his mum! They both seemed to enjoy themselves. She was quite tasty actually.

Who is up for a pre-MCGTG mini-GTG? Zelig is in Manchester next Tuesday 13th so we are meeting at the usual venue at 17:00 for a couple of pints.

Edit: Sorry I won’t be able to make the mini-GTG. There is chance Zelig will be sat in the venue on his own. He’ll be the one wearing a watch.

Sorry I missed it, had a stomach bug yesterday and decided against travelling today. Probably would've been OK as it turns out,ended up clearing my garage and generally pottering around at home. Would rather have been looking at watches and drinking beer with you guys, I don`t like backing out when I`ve said I`d come.
