Rolex and top end watches EC2 London

I found a fantastic jewellers in EC2 London, Liverpool St. Ive been looking for a Rolex for a good few months now and I was reccommended to Jonathan Geeves Jewellers in Liverpool St, EC2. www.geevesjewellers.co.uk.
The jeweller sourced my Rolex and it was 25% less than any other watch dealer or jeweller i could fine. Even cheaper than duty free in Dubai.
Outstanding service and I highly reccommend this jewellers.
I'm baffled why people go to the big branded places and get ripped off!

That is great to know. What model was it? Are they able to source s/s ceramic Daytonas or SD43s at such savings?

All you got to do is take a look in the window or pop inside for chat. You will either like the shop or you won't and it's no big deal either way.

I worked not far from Liverpool Street for over 20 years and there are many small specialist shops in the area so you never know.

Hola & welcome to the forum, some photos would be nice

My memory may be playing tricks, as I haven't walked past the store for a couple of years. However the most Rolex wise that I recall seeing in the preowned section tended to be a (small) handful of Datejust and Submariners, at the typical pricing for somewhere off Bishopsgate.

Not sure how qualified to work on Tag Heuer they are if they can’t even spell it correctly.

You see the thing about high precision timepieces is that the fine details make all difference. Clearly on this basis alone, I’m out.

Pat, what was the specific model of Rolex that they supplied you with, for 25% less than you could find at any other jeweller?

How much did they charge you for it?

There is a great risk that your post will be viewed as a self-defeating attempt to promote the company if you don’t engage fully here. If it is not that, it would be a shame for you to have “hobbled” what you consider such a fantastic business by alienating everyone on the UK’s busiest watch forum.

Yeah, I mean if some Google’s “Geeves Jewellers Liverpool Street reviews”, you wouldn’t want them to come here would you now unless you can back up that claim?

Just look at their Google reviews: very poor ones - until a couple of weeks ago, when a regular stream of 5-star reviews started. I suppose they either did it themselves or they paid somebody to do it.

Google reviews alot of the time are fake & are done by friends of the company in question.

I suspect Jonathan Geeves is now realising there is such a thing as bad publicity.

If Trump can declare himself a genius, surely Pat can claim to own the world's finest Rolex emporium.

The men in white coats will be along shortly...

There's no longer a market in second hand Rolex after Haywood scared the c**p out of the busiest UK watch forum membership.

Aye, quite an astute business move, wasn`t it.......
Put the fear into buying any pre-owned R***x and the custom will come flooding in to those who can guarantee/authenticate!

It would be easy for a rival business (or disgruntled customer) to start a thread like this...

It would only work if they were rubbish though? Rival business leaves glowing reference of great competitor wouldn't have the same effect!

Don’t think so. Some here seem to have decided this is a business to avoid based solely on one post.

I take it you've missed the other two additional pieces of shitty feedback, one from a member with 800+ posts?

Think some minds were already made up by then.

Not saying this retailer is good/bad just that such a tactic could be used.

I was thinking this also. The user name is very generic and the post is too blatant.

I suspect someones grinding an axe on here.

This must be a joke! I go past there twice a week when I head to business meetings. Full of secondhand over priced stock they cannot shift, citizen, undesirable watches from 10 seasons ago

This seems too much like “small beer” for someone to be framing them in an elaborate, double-agent forum reputation sting. Never heard of them until today myself. Thanks to “Pat’s” post, I have.

Today I was offered a free watch from Jonathan Geeves Jeweller, in exchange I was supposed to advertise some of their products on this fine forum. Of course I declined because I am a person of high moral standards with strong will power. Just as strong as the rubber strap on my Classic Series Shock Resistant Casio G-Shock with 5 Daily Alarms, Lap Memory, Stopwatch and World Time features.

Wow, I've logged in on my lunch break to a few messages... I wasn't aware you should upload a photo as you can see I'm new to this forum. I was under the impression it was good to share facts to others and help them out. I can only comment on the experience I received and I'm really happy with my watch (179174) and the service offered to me. I was told by a colleague this shop can source you watches and I went in and they had my watch in stock, along with a few others. I understand the staff in the shop can find you a watch as I believe they get them off other dealers but don't have all stock onsite.

In my above post I didn't mention.. my Rolex is pre-owned (so obviously cheaper) and it came with a 12 month guarantee.... I'm happy.

I don't know how to upload a photo, pls advise and I will/can.

On another note (or should I start a new message board)! Is it a good idea to get diamonds put round the edge (on the outside of the glass) or would it make it harder to sell further down the line when I upgrade it?? Not sure what to do!!!

Don't put diamonds around the edge of the glass (a.k.a. fitting an aftermarket P.o.S. bezel), no.

Would you please tell us what you paid for this pre-owned 179174?

    Thankyou.
