    Titanium bracelet refinishing

I have just bought at Citizen titanium watch. I bought it mainly because it reminds me of a watch I had when I was younger and partly because I like the utilitarian style. However, I have a question about the bracelet, which I'm not completely happy with.

The bracelet has two different finishes - one matte and one shiny. The bracelet can be seen in the picture below:

Does anyone know if there's a way to brush the bracelet so the shiny links become matte to match the rest? Or do I need to start looking for a replacement bracelet?

Mask off the other links, then treat the shiny links with a scotchbrite pad wrapped around a small piece of wood. Be sure to work in straight lines.

Don’t blame me if you don’t like it.

No! Scotchbrite pads can be used to produce a brushed finish. I don’t use them often thesedays, I use a wheel made from the same stuff .

Garryflx blocks give a similar finish.

A very upmarket London jewellery maker I know uses them to put a brushed finish on his work.

That bracelet appears to be bead blasted though rather than brushed, so you may remove the shine but I’m not sure brushing will give an exact match?

You can use rubber eraser. But it will brush it.

Thanks a lot for the replies everyone! It appears Gcleminson is right. The bracelet is bead blasted, so going to work on the polished links with a Scotchbrite pad just made them less shiny. I have ordered a new bracelet that will hopefully match the case.
