Stunning quality, you can't resell them though unless it's super cheap.
Just came across this seiko ananta automatic chronograph whilst browsing google and have to say I think it looks amazing.
No doubt it's a solid well made watch as it's a seiko.
So has any one on here got one or had one ?

I like the look of that!
I had the spring drive version of this .
Awesome quality.

I had the 3 handed auto version of this. Lovely watch, but as said previously they take a hammering on resale.
Had 3 of these back in 2009-2011, 2 automatics and 1 Spring Drive chrono. Brilliant watches, superb fit and finish but... Too damned big and heavy. These tipped the scales at 250g!
Marmite design and poor residuals. But the dial work and detailing is excellent. These watches were used by Seiko to test the waters before unleashing Grand Seiko globally.
Think of these as Grand Seikos for 60% off with bold styling.
I used to own one of them. It felt very well made and the polishing was simply superb. Sold it to a friend so I still get to see it!
If you like it go for it. It really is a great watch

I really like that except the elongated lugs. Putting my thumbs over the lugs makes it look so much more appealing to me

Where to find one though is the question

These look really good. Why's the resale value so poor?
Reality of high end Seikos unfortunately and that's speaking as someone with two. I know I'd take £500 hit on my MM300 if I sold it (which I won't be), and the poor bloke who owned my Snowflake before me would have taken an absolute bath on the residuals. Great if you can pick them up though

Now that I remember I used to have the GMT 4 hander Spring Drive Ananta with silver dial and bracelet. It was a sweet watch and got many compliments on it more than the GS SBGE001 that replace it.
It was however too heavy for all day wear comfort and admittedly big on my small wrists.
In total I owned 4 Anantas all
Bought new. The dial work of the Ananta SPS007 Spring Drive GMT chrono was as good or superior to the dial in its GS equivalent the SBGC001.

Not very many left in the pipeline. Production of the Katana cased Anantas ended in 2011. There was also a very sweet moon phase 3 hander Spring Drive that regret not buying new for a very reasonable price.
Go to www.watchrecon.com and keep an eye on them. These have such bad residuals that people grab them very quickly in the used market.
There was an Ananta Automatic chrono with bracelet that sold for only USD $1000. Original retail used to be USD $3200....
Also consider costs of servicing these given their poor resale value...
I would say about 3-4 years ago, the resale of Grand Seikos here in the US was better than Omega and Breitling. I know first hand because I had 4 and sold all with very minimal loss. It also helped that I bought them new with a 30% discount...
Very nice looking indeed. With rrp at usd3.2k at that time, it's no wonder so few are available now. I personally would find it difficult to justify buying it.
