Loupe - Can anyone recommend a reasonable one

I've looked around on the internet from a good (Jewellery?) Loupe to use when looking at my watches - so many just confused

Can anyone recommend a good one .. maybe with a built in LED light ......... or give me some advice on what to look for

    Thanks

    Hello Bill,

I've got a set like this:

Pretty decent for the money, although not illuminated.

I'm fairly fussy about optics, having made cameras for 25 years in my previous life. I saw a loupe at Salon QP a couple of years back that was very impressive, but came with a price tag to match. From memory, c. $500.. depends how much you want to spend..

    Cheers,

    Plug

I have used these for many years for repair of watches and clocks with no problems. If all you want to do is to inspect your watches generally these will be more than up to the job.
