Another steinhart teaser - not a homage?

Can't tell much from their latest teaser other than it looks like it has an internal (fixed?) 24 hr indicator and possibly bead blasted or titanium case? Can't think of anything it's a homage of - am curious about this one
Can see the numbers causing a little confusion the same way the 24 hr markers cause it to some on the vintage McQueen gmt

I'm so over Steinhart, they just hold no interest anymore. I've had quite a few and they ARE brilliant quality, there are no real competitors in terms of Swiss-made mechanical watches of the quality for the price.

The one good stab they made at an original design, the Ocean 2, they ruined the thing with the mk2 version. The rest of the original designs are, without exception, f**king horrendous. Actually, I suppose there's the Ocean Titanium and Ocean Bronze which may not be direct homages like the Ocean 1 but could most kindly be called derivative at best.

    Is Steinhart relevant?

Think the ocean 2 was a loose homage to the IWC aquatimer - could be wrong.

Yeah, I can see that, there are similarities but it's a long way from the likes of the Ocean 1 and Submariner.

Agreed - hence loose. Must say of all my watches the Black Sea would one I would find very hard to sell. But re your points, are they relevant? Well I think they have filled the price / quality niche and are therefore relevant to a portion of watch wearing society. Of course they are completely irrelevant to others. Given that you've owned many of them in the past, they were prob relevant to your journey in the hobby, albeit you now find them irrelevant.

I’m really considering the gmt vintage pictured above, I saw a review online that looked decent. I need a gmt in the collection and was/am torn between that and the squale tropical ceramic.

They hold a perfect niche for those who want reliability and excellent build quality without paying stupid prices, much like our very own Timefactors.

The vintage GMT is nice. Comes in various editions some with faux vintage lume some with white. It's very different in styling from most watches. The Squale tropic is different only in its bezel colour / I considered one but the kind of dull grey dead flesh half of the bezel was the turn off for me

Thanks, but GMT feature ruins it, for me. Good to know, but suspect he got offered a deal outside of eBay, so saving on fees.

NAV B Chrono 47 with GMT hand? Or Premium version? Pretty sure that hand (and markers) are in current usage.

It looks to be Nav B DNA, and gmt - I doubt they would do chrono gmt but yes it would be a gmt titanium Nav B in 44 - that's my guess

Maybe a dual crown watch, inner rotating bezel.

I agree here ,the only thing they are guilty of are some design cues which most micro -expanding or established -brands are guilty of . No big deal . As said value for money for a starter into horology

I really like that although it would be better without the date window.

I’ve heard if you travel to the chronomaster base in Bolton , Neil the owner will let you try on before you buy . I’ve intended to go for ages

Looks very nice, I like it.
I agree that the date window is a poorly placed afterthought, much better to have a properly sized (square) window at 6 rather than this somewhat undersized round one at 3, ruining the symmetry.

I would have gone for a single stem 24-hr hand too, a little more traditional. This twin-stem version seems a little bit modern to me, but that again is just personal.

Bolton’s a fair whack away from me in London. I suppose if I bought one from a dealer I could always send it back if I didn’t like it. Just don’t like to mess people around.

It's quite....I dunno......damaskoesque? The bead blasted titanium and dual colour lume. I like it - although the legibility of the GMT hand is questionable. Very good addition to their line and their best Nav variant methinks

It certainly takes elements from the Damasko, without being a blatant copy. That is a nice GMT in my book.

This model really appeals to me. Not sure if it is a direct copy of a Nomos or if it just emulates the style.

44mm Roman version on eBay under £200 just now - 4 hours to go. I owned the 44 but it really does wear large

It wouldn't be a GMT watch without the GMT hand. They already do a load of B-Uhr variants if you want one without the GMT hand... but then those aren't GMT watches.

I ordered one today. I really like the look, the lume, the relatively inconspicuous GMT hand and the 10 atm waterproofing. I've never had a titanium cased watch, so I'm hoping it doesn't feel too light for its size?
