    A box of boxes

Had a bit of a tidy up of the watch boxes

    How do you store yours?

Mine are neatly tucked away in a drawer in the spare room.
they live with other boxes such as the one for the laptop, or the headphones i recently bought.
I also keep, in the same drawer, all the bubble-lined envelopes that my straps came in, for some reason...

I love my watch boxes, it's another nice layer to this hobby.

Nice collection by the way - what's the white one next to the Tudor box?

Exactly the same way but only two boxes, but ones a new moonwatch box so there was only room for one other.

Tell me about it - a lovely kit to peruse, but a nightmare to store!

All mine are taking-up space in a cupboard.

I know the box contributes to the consumer experience, but I'm starting to appreciate the approach taken by NOMOS (tiny little slim case), Dan Henry (leather & canvas watch roll, handy for travel use) and Halios (tough little Nanuk Nano case you can at least use for other things).

I'd rather a £100 or whatever off the watch than a huge box that's a pain to store and you only keep in case you flip the watch. Grand Seiko boxes are particularly crazy, outer sleeve, then outer box, the rice paper sleeve, then inner (still huge) heavy box containing something small enough to go around your wrist.

    ^^^^^^ This.

Higher chance that one will be noticed, but it is 'just one (honest....)'

All of mine are in an old Henry Hoover box in the loft.

May need a bigger box now as it is pretty full.

May sound crazy but it’s worth taking pics of all your boxes etc and storing them on maybe a usb

Keep it away from the property in case of theft or fire to prove ownerships etc

Always good with your watches, valued items etc

Fair suggestion to be honest. May consider this.

What if the place you store them goes up in flames or gets robbed?

You'll have details on USB to back-up insurance claim? (Though better in cloud TBH.)

Was a little bit tongue in cheek!

I’ve taken photos all all my watches, boxes and papers etc. Also have all the scanned receipts backed up.

Use Google photos and a portable hard drive I backup my NAS with on a monthly basis which is locked in my desk at work.

In a plastic box in loft & fairly regularly check it for rodent intrusion.... its a big box because it fits the other boxes in alongside my Nicky Hayden Tissot T-Race.... & that box is a sort of 1/3 scale crash helmet & box & is huge

    A box of boxes

I have a fairly large collection of Omegas, Seikos, Rolexes and Tudors. The packaging of modern omegas drives me insane. Just look at the size of that classic moon watch box or the new trilogy releases. Compare this to the modest but confident, functional but well constructed boxes Tudor and Rolex, which have one of the smallest packaging amongst the Swiss luxury brands. It’s just so much easier to store in space limited situations.

    I throw alll mine away. . . .

oh ok I don’t really - just thought I’d have a Monday morning laugh - I mean any normal person would think us insane worrying about retail packaging. The Blancpain Fifty Fathoms is a particularly hefty package - so big I can’t remember where I stored it as it’s too big for the usual location.

    Drawer of boxes

All empty.... guilty secret time - many years ago I collected Rolex and Tudor boxes, booklets, accessories from eBay for peanuts before I bought (or could afford) any of the watches. These are those left over from a collection of probably about 40 or so. Sounds daft, but collecting the boxes did have the typical variety of features that a collector of anything might be interested in : different eras, materials, inners/outers, reference numbers, inner holders, stickered, condition, rarity etc etc. Sold most of them off over time and replaced with some that had the added feature of containing watches !

I’m with you in this. I have a whole cupboard full of watch and tech boxes.

The Speedmaster 005 box really takes the piss though. It’s basically a suitcase
