Good progress.
I love these threads.
Things were a little slow for the last few weeks. The shop was closed between Christmas and New Year's Day etc. A quick tally-up show that welding (including the accident repair - remember the car fell of a trailer!) took a little less than 200 hrs. That also includes the strengthening of the chassis.
The week before Christmas, the engine came back from overhaul (done by a specialist); it was time to paint the block and leave it to dry until Jan 2. The guys at the shop always paint the engine blocks the original colour. But: always in a semi-gloss or matt colour! That way it's easier to detect oil or water leaks. This time, a semi-gloss high temp resist colour. The engine was relatively good. Only tired, so to speak: the pistons just dropped out of the cylinders! The shop took care of that, lightened the flywheel (common practice on TR engines) and reground the crankshaft (after checking it for cracks). The engine was put back together in the shop; taking about 10 hrs in total. A TR 6-pot is an easy engine.
So until now we have a body, nearly finished welding, a complete and rebuilt chassis and a fully restored and rebuilt engine. Next stage is the lower part of the hardtop that needs extensive repair and there's a gearbox with overdrive somewhere in the wings of this restoration theatre. It's beginning to look like a car again!

Quite agree, the best thread ever.:)
All of these refurbed components look so good separately it's almost a shame to reassemble them! Great work!

I would definitely fit the modified oil filter housing that allows a vertical filter to be fitted. Mine had this modification, it’s a very popular mod. The horizontal filter drains when the engine us stood for a few hours and that causes a delay in oil pressure build-up when the engine’s started. It’s a minor point but I think it’s worth considering.
I still think it should be built as right hand drive

I don’t think owner will do so. He’s too attached to the car!
As Bob said, the individual restored items look very good on their own Menno!
You basically get a new car when the lot is finished and put back together.
Nothing but respect from a man with two left hands :)
Got a new watch, divers watch it is, had to drown the bastard to get it!
