Apols if this has been posted before. From the BBC archive - from an episode of Tomorrow’s World.

So what was the watch? When I was a kid the joke was anything that appeared on TW was doomed to die and never see the real world!

It’s amazing how he can make a talk about watches and thermocouples sound so full of innuendo!

I was still expecting an “Ooh Matron!”

Excellent stuff. Strange that he had his waist coat tucked into his trousers.

Watching that brought back a memory of an old Dave Allen sketch about teaching a child to tell the time. I was probably mid-teens when I first saw it and it's stuck with me ever since. A classic :-)

No kidding! If he was using an autocue he did it brilliantly, if not he memorised and authoritatively conveyed some fairly technical stuff. Just goes to show what a fundamentally great performer he was, able to turn his hand to pretty much anything in the entertainment world.

Did they have autocue in those days?

Good question, but it's Tomorrow's World so surely they'd have it, powered by lasers!

Seriously, Wikipedia says teleprompters have been around since the 1950s so he could have been using one. Even so, it's such a professional delivery of a very esoteric topic.

The Box had Bulova on but no idea of the model
KW was totally unique, he could make the signing of Humpty Dumpty sound like a dirty song.
    Thanks for sharing OP

KW such a massive talent, so underused and such a sad life he led. He desperately wanted to be remembered for his acting talent and intelligence but his legacy is the carry on films and ooh matron.

He's still well remembered for Round The Horne, I think, or at least the Julian And Sandy sketches. In the nineties his diaries were published. I remember enjoying reading them, but I don't remember much of the actual contents. Joe Orton's diaries were much more, er, memorable

A fantastic comedian! Only just noticed he looks to not have part of his left first finger.
