A Couple of beers from Northern Monk!

Tried a 'Monty Python's Flying Circus Very Silly IPA' last night, draught. With a name like that I thought that it was worth a shot! Big fan of IPAs and thought the 'Very Silly' part could mean ultra bitter, or ultra floral or the like.

It was the most boring pint I've ever had. No character, no flavour, no interest, nothing. Brewed by Black Sheep, and I can't say I've ever enjoyed one of theirs, but at least the others have something to dislike in terms of their character. This was just crap.

St Austell Brewery - BIG Job - Double IPA

    Bottle claims that it is:
    - Bottle conditioned
    - Very strong at 7.2%
    - 'Champion bottled beer of Britain '17'

    I claim that it is:
    - Very tasty indeed. Going down a treat after a day in the sun.

I'll give it a try. St Austell is one of, if not my favourite, brewers. Proper Job and Tribute are superb. Prefer both on tap, but the bottled PJ is better than bottled Tribute to me.

Having a 'rotation of stock' so clearing out stuff at the back of the cupboard, tonight its:

To make space for a whole range of beers from a relatively local brewery, XT Brewing Co, as our local Budgens is closing and has 15% off all stock...

Next time you're up north in Durham City pop in either the Swan or the Colpitts, I'm sure they'll have it behind the bar to take out.

Mmmmm beer. What beer are we drinking tonight?

Went for a cheeky Sri Lankan curry early this evening
So it was Lion Stout 8.5% followed by Lion Lager 4.6% both served in pint and half bottles.
