Had a fantastic weekend in Antwerp last weekend, managed to try 32 beers in 4 days!
Some highlights:

And now for something a little different, Dagmal breakfast stout from Tring:
For beer that has been "doctored" (it has been brewed with oats, coffee and lactose) it is actually very nice. Not sure I'd have it for breakfast though. Actually, it would probably wash down a bacon and egg butty quite well. Hmmmm.....

It was great. Four of us went and many of those were small pours (20cl) and we shared bottles so we had plenty of tasters. Really enjoyable way of having a civilised session.

Seeing as I am holiday I thought I would test my hypothesis.
I can confirm that the Dagmal does go very well with a bacon and egg sandwich.

It is indeed, have had a couple of Ease Ups too.
It is well earned as we have just completed a 10km walk. Supposed to stop half way for a pub lunch except that the pub was closed(a potential topic for the Dear Wife thread but I might let it go).
I do love a Guinness!

Just back from Chappel Beer Fest, very disappointed, most of the beers I would have liked to try had gone so just used up my card and came home. Apparently their Summer beer festival is similarly small (one shed only) it used to be a very large affair and I'd enjoyed it and went most years however post Covid it seems to have lost it's way. Only ones that took my fancy today were Earl Soham Gannet Mild and Green Jack Drifter. Cheers, John B4

I'm enjoying stouts at the moment. This Tring Tea Kettle is another good one. It is quite smooth, without the harsh bite that you can sometimes get with a stout.

Last nights parade…
Juice bombs to start off with. Both the Beak and Phantom Pales were superb, very well balanced and quaffable.
Dank juice wasn’t particularly dank, but it was most enjoyable and his the punchy ABV well.
Mrs Works was out with pals in London, so I had to feed myself with a steak & ale pie, too many chunky chips and some greenery. Old Ale from Long Man seemed a worthy partner to that and paired beautifully. I took it out of the garage about an hour before I drank it so it was at room temp, fabulous beer to sit by the fire with too that.
Another IPA which, if I’m honest, I didn’t really need. But Burnjng Sky make top drawer boz, so it was no hardship.
And the one I really didn’t need (at 2205hrs), but enjoyed anyway, another belter from Long Man which slipped down effortlessly.
Starting with this (from The House of Trembling Madness).
The Kernel Export India Porter. Super hoppy and strangely for a Porter, very dry. Not a suggestion of sweetness. I like this. Wish I'd bought more than two bottles.

Second beer. I'd rate it as OK. Nothing remarkable. I wouldn't seek it out again

My local off licence sells it along with the other beers from the brewery.

Quality I was in spoons in Edinburgh last week a pint of Leffe and a fish supper with beans was like Ł13 absolute bargain.
Unfortunately I noticed a nice vintage omega for sale which was such a good price it would also have been rude not to try....the wife took it she loves it so all good I guess...lol

Lordy lord is it hot in Gran Canaria this afternoon (rhetorical question).
Luckily the pool bar is stocked with an endless supply of Cruzcampo Special. Fantastic.
Another new one to me, The Chiltern Brewery' Three Hundreds Dark Old Ale. Nice but tastes like it is over 6% rather than the 5% it is.
Sounds pretty good value. I like that there is no jukebox, slot machines no volume, and same with the smallish TV subtitles only and no piped crap music. Just people talking, good beer and cheerful staff.

Called out Saturday afternoon for a couple in Horsforth brewery, had a couple of the North is Ace on cask then popped into the Hop Shack and had these back home.

Walked the dog up through Hunger Hills woods and called at Granville’s for a couple, Kirkstall Special Mild for me and the Vocation Death by Daiquiri got Mrs T.
I then had 2/3rds of the Northern Monk Patrons Project (forgot photo)
Then called in Kings Arms and had Kirkstall Mitigating Circumstances

Bought a case of Kronenbourg Blanc last week from Tesco. The stuff in blue bottles. Been hard to find here for ages, hope they are going to make it a regular stocked item in there.

I had Cruzcampo for the first time tonight. Quite nice and light.
Called at Hemsley Brewery on Friday on way home from Sleights, had the Yorkshire Legend Bitter, really good, and a bottle of Jacky Boy Stout to takeaway.
Had this also , freebee from work!
Saturday, had a stroll to Kings Arms and had a couple of Kirkstall Jasper and a Kirkstall Bitter.
