    Favourite acquisition of 2017?!

What's been your favourite acquisition this year? Have you reached your grail?

For me not reached my grail but got me my first Rolex so that's got to be mine.

My one and only acquisition of the year was my PAM190. Again not quite a grail but still a lovely watch with a buttery soft JLC movement

I’m sure it’s just the angle but that master control looks JUMBO!

Ive managed to pick up some gorgeous watches over the course of the year, but I think this one might be my favourite. It’s so unassuming, whilst being quite beautiful.

And, of course, it’s my birth year!

1961 1601. Absolute favourite watch now, and alas it's made me really struggle with my larger watches.

Love the doxa Simon. I actually ordered a vintage shark hunter but decided I have enough divers so cancelled in favour of the 1601

    This is really tough.
Out of the four newcomers in 2017, I can’t choose a favourite from the following two - both GMT’s coincidentally.

I didn't acquire anything this year, so the best I can do is my having had my 1960 Longines freshened up by animalone. The 9ct case got a thorough clean, the ancient and heavily worn crystal was replaced by one I can actually see through and the serviced movement is now keeping excellent time. The watch has been transformed, and no longer feels like something I have to make allowances for

Definitely my 3647s. Pretty much my grail, and I've put off buying one for a number of years and watched prices creep steadily northwards. Was worried it may displace my copper carrera reissue, but there is room in the collection for both.. and if not my wife has dibs (apparently).

Without a doubt this even though circumstances may dictate I move it on in the New Year. It's a mini grail which does not disappoint.

Very happy with all of the 2017 arrivals, but this sees the most wear by a country mile.

Depending on how fast the dealer and DHL are I have one more incoming in 2017. Until then, this is my favorite acquisition:

It must be this one as it's the only 2017 arrival I've kept

Not had a proper tool watch for a while and fully expected it to be too thick and too heavy but I just love it!!

It has to be my forum sourced Tuna. First Tuna I've owned and it's just so comfortable on an isofrane on my 6.5" wrist - doesn't move about.
It's supremely accurate - tested against my other favourite acquisition of the year - a GPS equipped Nixie Clock

Bought this from SC earlier this year. Something of a grail for me....

However, just done a deal today for this one below but it's not in my possession yet. Not sure if it will displace the red sub as favourite though...

Not a 'grail grail' so to speak, but wanted an SKX007 for a while and keep not getting round to it, eventually picked one up last month and really happy with it, can definitely see what all the fuss is about at this price point.

Bought nos this year. It was a joy to take the stickers off this 2010 v series and start to wear it.

    Definitely my Daytona

Been after one since I started collecting, in May I chopped in my 14060 for this slim-handed 116250 from 2004

Easy question for me, many have come and gone this year but this Sumo (the orange one) has been on my radar for years and so happy to finally grab one from the SC. It's quickly become my favourite watch, which may seem a little odd in this company of higher end pieces but such is life.

This year I picked up a Speedbird, a 114270 and a Seiko solar SSC, up until recently it was the Speedbird, then this arrived, what a beauty.

This one for me - 1974 Speedmaster, having a step dial, ghost bezel, unpolished, freshly serviced, great price and best of all it's just 88 days younger than me.
