    Unimatic

Received this Unimatic U1-D in the mail recently. Bit of an impulse buy frankly, and because I have another watch inbound, I will be returning this to the company.

But, initial off-the-wrist impressions are very positive. Really oozes quality. In fact, my wife actually thinks I should keep it (which is weird). Again, I have no performance feedback to provide, but based on my limited exposure I’d highly recommend the watch.

What price are they? I had a look at one of their other models, and the quality seemed fairly good.
It's just a matter of time...

Looks really nice but expected something a bit better than a NH35A movement for the price.

I always liked those first model Unimatics, I managed to resist though. The black outlined hands on a black dial just seemed like a bad idea to me. A white outline would have made the visible hand area greater, instead the black outline means you're left with just seeing the lume paint - at a glance anyway.

I've got one of their original "Field Watch" designs, the Modello Due; it cost less than EUR400 and is built like a tank. Sits high on the risk and even though it's c39mm, it wears large. WR to 300m, it's a go anywhere, do anything kind of watch. Now, if I could only remember where I put it...

I’m not bothered by bezels not being at 12 etc but the position of those hands niggles me
Joking aside, this is a new brand to me, always learning and thanks for sharing.

So if you can already presume the hour why bother with a watch?

Looks like a really nice, solid, no-nonsense watch. Not silly money either. I like it.

It’s quite cool elements of Mil Sub and a maxi dial 5513z
