    Local cheque shop

Picked this up from the local pawn shop. Not expensive.

Must be a wind up?!? Unless there’s a very liberal definition of ‘not expensive’

It's very clearly a wind up. There's no rotor to suggest it's an automatic.

    I'm here all week...

This is stunning, love the brand.

If you picked this up where you said, congrats you did well and why not.

How do shops like these check to see if goods being brought in are stolen or not?

Mind you, no box or papers and the new strap cost nearly as much as the watch.

Another way of putting that is that the watch was picked up for the price of a strap. Sounds good

Wondering why people with no interest in watches are on a watch forum?

I've picked up a coup,e of bargains over the years from cash generator et al and pointed a couple of members at good deals however compared to that they were small fry!

you would have to think that a shop that couldn't recognise the value of a watch like that, wouldn't be able to verify a fake,

That is stunning. Wonderful looking watch.

    Fantastic find!

Pity the poor mug who presumably sold it for a similar figure - at least the shop hasn't profited big time.

Pretty sure Haywood said there's limits on market value etc pawn shops are *supposed* to stick to.

Though likely they got the market value wrong.

I've never been in a chav pawn shop or cash converters type shop where something has been under valued if any things half decent its allways rediculusly over priced

Pretty sure someone on here picked up an older model Seiko Samurai for a decent price from one earlier in the year.

  30. #30

Where are those photos from? Looks like they've just been lifted from the net. If the op has a nice watch im happy for him
Good luck everybody. Have a good one.

    Congratulations to the OP :)

What a find and to read that the new strap was nearly as expensive as the actual watch has to speak volumes as to the actual price of the watch.

IMO, the movement is one of the very best in the business.

OP has posted elsewhere on TZ UK since this, so presumably isn't interested in giving any more of an explanation. The thread on the other site doesn't give any clue to the story either.
