A legend that could have come straight from central casting. He was a one off.

He will be missed, many were turned on to engineering and ingenuity due to this man, RIP indeed.

Once again that precious mix of infectious enthusiasm aligned with superb knowledge of their subject has been shown to give us brilliant entertainment from the most unlikely of people.
R.I.P. Heinz you were indeed one of a kind sir.

RIP. He was a real gentleman and the breadth of his knowledge was beyond my ken.

Absolutely - you could tell he was a lovely man and excellent at teaching children about science. I remember seeing him on TV in the 70s and thinking Professor Calculus is real.

Yes, a wonderful chap who led a long and meaningful life.

The world needs more like him.
So clever my foot fell off.

He was a very funny and interesting chap. I met him at a conference once for the NHS years ago.

I was waiting in the hotel Lobby for a colleague to come down from her room and he was stood waiting for someone too, I said hello as he looked at me as we were stood next to each other and he said rather awkwardly are you looking for me, I said no waiting for colleague, oh he said sorry I am meant to be meeting someone too.

I to be fair at that point did not realise who he was, just looked like a cool interesting person. We had a chat, can not remember what about but I made him laugh and then he was collected by his person.

Later he gave the most interesting talk on technology as one of the speakers, the penny dropped who he was, thought I had seen on TV as a youngster.

Saw him again later in the evening, when I was with my colleagues and he said hello again, and laughed. The people I was with were like WTF, I said yeah met him earlier, very cool chap.

Sad. He was a one off.
