Your on the wrong forum,it's a watch forum so you buy watches and if you don't like them then sell them and repeat in some cases at least 20 times a year.

Is this price before or after the Chronext discount?

It's a seriously good price, for an exceptional watch.

With all these models do people consider omega luxury? Omega has seriosuly fallen in my eyes. I seriosuly live their old stuff though. I have 2 60s pieces myself and would like to own sm300

I don’t think Omega worry too much. They have been doing very well for some time.

From having a mostly Rolex collection until early last year, I now have more Omega watches than any other brand.

The benefit of having such a large and varied range is that there is usually something that will appeal to most people (unless you dislike the brand for the sake of it).

One area though is the increasing price point. The watch highlighted in this thread is probably quite good value at full RRP when compared to other brands, and Omegas other dive watches - but all the new movement watches are significantly more expensive. I love my Omega watches, but as much as they may want to be in the buyers minds (I.e. probably the first luxury/expensive watch on either their thought or their wants), they are not Rolex. Only some models now cost just as much!
It's just a matter of time...

Thanks it's a good heads up for what is a great watch at a good price.

Forget the not so positive comments if someone gets a good deal it's worth it.

even a 'cheap' seiko is a luxury, it's all relative. To some omega isn't luxury at all.

Bizzare comment. Any watch costing in to the thousands is a luxury watch no matter who you are. If you are very wealthy of course you will spend more but that does not change the fact watches costing in to the thousands are luxury watches.

quotations marks around cheap implied I wasn't suggesting they are cheap by any means, and pointed out it is all relative in the post.

The average price of a watch sold in the UK is about £95 - so yes I think on any reasonable measure Omega makes luxury watches as part of a continuum that stretches off into the hundreds of thousands.

If you’re buying a watch that is more than a runabout 2nd hand car. Then yes it’s a luxury item. I’m guilty for this myself it’s when an odd car coms up for sale on SC that I start scratching my head and think am I mad.
