I now see why this ' Hobby ' can get dangerous ( on your wallet )

So last month I started my collection with my Tissot Le Locle and my Tissot Couturier, both of which I love.

I wanted to add a Blue faced watch to my collection and yesterday purchased an Orient Sun Moon automatic which should arrive on Monday

But then browsing online during my spare moments at work as you do.. and now this Seiko is on the way ..

    It's great isn't it 🤣🤣

Don’t make out you didn’t know it would be so!

Nice little start to your collection. Come back to us in another year or two and your collection will be unrecognisable, completely different, loads sold, loads brought, I am telling you it will be so. Congratulations on your incoming pieces and enjoy.

You'll have to figure the VAT into that but it's still a nice watch for the money.

Congratulations, you are now officially a lost cause... just like the rest of us.

Any experience with deliver times from Joma

It's the first time I've ordered

Does day delivery before Christmas so hopefully shouldn't be too long

You could build a decent collection just buying Tissots, they do some lovely watches.

    I do like the Tissots

But fancied some variety and also I do have quite large arms and wrists so sometimes 37-39mm can look a little small on me

    Painful ain't it 😏
However I hold back pressing the buy button or saying "yep, I'll have that" I don't know!
    I personally think it's addictive.

Just too many stunning watches about and it's not exclusive to the expensive brands.
I must have looked at around half dozen this week alone! Ones going to have to be on its way before Christmas!

So I managed to collect the Orient from the collection office this afternoon and it's even better in person!

Your right it certainly can be hard on the wallet.
I've not been collecting watches very long and I have to reign myself in on a regular basis.
Some nice watches you've started off with there as well.

    Thanks James

It's weird ... You get one, hold it in your hands and appreciate it. Put it on .. then go straight online and look for your next!🕺🕺🕺

I know the feeling exactly. They should rent out watches. Did you ever consider changing you car and fancy a particular model, you don't even have to be in the new car marked, it's the same for reasonably up to date used cars. Then on holiday or business you end up getting one as a rental, you really like it and the opportunity to drive one was great - but then having experienced it you decide..."Nah, I'll keep the yoke I have at the moment, it'll do me another year".

It is a constant battle with my head and wallet but it is also very enjoyable just to look at and research watches and immerse yourself in the industry a bit. It’s surprising how much my taste has changed in as little as 5 years.

I do like that Orient. Very pretty.

Unfortunately it's a slippery slope. I started in the early 90's and have nearly 50 now and I'm sure that pales into insignificance to some here! It's ridiculous, really.

I love it just put a black leather strap on it

The only negative I can see is that it doesn't have anti reflective glass so on a really sunny day outside could be tricky to see without a second look!
