I use Dropbox. You have to swap the end of the http code and add image tags to embed images but it’s easy.
[IMG ] url from drop box, swap dl=0 to raw=1 end with [/IMG ] no spaces.

Photobucket haven’t covered themselves in glory regarding how they went about changing their fees.

    3rd party image hosting

There’s no way Photobucket are going to hold me to ransom, so I’ve opened a free imgur account and I’ll gradually move all my photos over to that - then I’ll shut down my Photobucket account.

I agree, imgur looks really good and certainly works better than PB...

With some technical knowledge you can set up your own server and host whatever you like from it. I use Linode, which costs me $10 a month, for 30GB online storage and up to 2TB data transfers per month. I prefer the additional control this offers. If I want to upload an image in a post, I simply plonk it on my server and link it, which takes seconds. That leaves plenty of space for off-site back ups, blogs, etc..

The setup is easy, fast and I've not had a moments trouble with them.

Thanks guys, imgur seems just the ticket.

Although no wait... maybe not so easy. The imgur part was easy, but how do I make this show up as an image in a thread? Photobucket just let you copy an image link thing? https://imgur.com/wcxwshY

    Problem solved. :)
