    £50 - £60 headphone recommendations

Hi, looking for a few recommendations as I know there are a few hifi buffs on here ...

The wife has asked me to sort out some headphones for our 12 year old. He's massively into music but too young for earbuds so would rather him have a decent pair of cans that would allow him squeeze even more enjoyment out his ipod (Jack Garratt, Foals, Led Zep are amongst his faves).
The trouble is I want some sound quality but budget is only around £60.

    Any suggestions ?

I'm no Audiophile but appreciate good tunes/sounds,
I currently use Bose/Sennheiser for over the ear headphones.

We bought some AKG's for our nephew a couple of years ago and he was well impressed,

take a look at the AKG Y50, decent review from What Hifi and just in your budget....

For the budget, you might find some others that are as good as those AKGs but you won't find any better.

Thanks chaps - perfect. Gone with the 'show off' yellow ones :-)

Sennheisser open backs, or Beyer Dynamic (slightly brighter sound)

Would you really want to share a house with a 12 year old with open-backed headphones (even if this lad seems to have reasonable taste)?
