Pretty good offer. Could you visit some other ADs and try and beat it/get a price match to play them off one another?
My wife wants a Rolex. She's set on a datejust 36mm bi-metal, fluted bezel, diamond dot dial, champagne dial and jubilee bracelet and clasp. She tried it on at Heathrow (20% discount) and my mum has just purchased the new 28mm version.
I know of an ad with this watch in stock its rrp is £9500 they have said I can have it with a £1000 discount. Does anybody know of anyone that would do better or is that the best i can expect?
Oh and not planning a trip to Heathrow anytime soon. Which is a shame

I would try Iconic or one of the other trusted grey dealers before buying that watch from any AD
Cheers guys
A few greys have pre-owned but new at £8500, I've found a 2016 at £7995
The ad knows I'm semi interested, but I've told them I was wanting a stronger discount to pull the trigger before Xmas
Purchased a Lady Perp 176200 for my partner last month. Phone call to see if the SS with olive face was available - it was. Price of £3550 was negotiable but I had to come in to discuss.
Was sold the watch for £3150 without trying or asking.
The Heathrow gig looks like a VAT-free price and ADs are reluctant to discount on that even if they don’t pocket any more. I.e no effective discount on the high street.
I suspect that that anything that is not the most popular male SS models and is in stock will see 5 to 10% off with little trouble. Unlike Omega, I suspect you can’t or won’t go further than that.

Bought the girlfriends mother a bi-metal DJ, and I’m sure the discount was either 13-14%. Shame the AD no longer exists though.
In the good ole days 20-25% would have been expected on a ladies watch.
It's just a matter of time...
All done. Almost got Heathrow discount on a stock watch. Wife hasn't got a clue
Will be passing through in mid Jan, will have to have a look.
That is a very specific requirement and most outfits will not have one in stock. If you can get £1000 off, grab it. That AD wants to offload it, shops without stock have no such pressure.
Cheers guys. I never thought I'd negotiate £1500 off 18.7% discount.
Iconic will do the said watch at £8750, but it isn't in stock. I think it really helped that my ad had 2 one with silver dial and one with champagne
If it wasn't wrapped up I'd post the pics. Might get the wife to open an account and post in the incoming thread on Xmas day
This was tempting for me
Could have asked to be bumped up the Daytona list

Unfortunately not. The loss was due to another group store. The fallout is still the same though, I have no AD and no current local access to either Rolex or Omega.
Up to 20% off was, as you will be well aware, not unusual for less popular ladies watches until more recent times, and 10% was very normal on most models at almost all AD's, or at least those I would/did call. That's without the fact I had spent 10's of thousands over the years (having had a high of 26 Rolex watches in the collection at one stage) with the local AD's before they closed.
These days things are quite different.
It's just a matter of time...
Here we go guys. Wife was in complete shock!!!
Lovely piece, and she thinks I've paid £9500. Brownie points for me today
Awesome present! She must be delighted :)

Thank you. She's delighted
Looks stunning.
Make sure you bank the brownie points, you never know when you may need them.
