    Fruity new arrival for the fence post......

    Slightly against the current ‘only Rolex’ trend I’m finding myself drawn more and more to Zenith, I recently purchased the amazing 45mm feature packed Zenith Doublematic and a few days ago I bought this lovely vintage Zenith Rainbow, colloquially known as the Mango dial version. I’ve always liked the Zenith Rainbow models and sold a Blue dial version here a few years ago and used to own the classic Rainbow Flyback version. Size for all of them is about 40mm and of course they all have the legendary El Primero movement. This Mango dial version is without doubt the most beautiful Zenith Rainbow I’ve owned so far and this one is in by far the best condition, in fact despite being from around 1999 it still seems like new. They come in various set ups, this particular model was designed for diving and has 100m water resistance with a superb one way divers bezel with luminous pip. The bracelet which is incredibly comfortable has a secure butterfly style deployant.
    Anyone interested in the various Rainbow models can find out all they need to know here:

    The dial is sharp and really pops, the colour changes from Orange to Yellow depending on the angle but most of all it looks Mango. There were only ever 470 of these made so I guess I’m unlikely to ever come across anyone else wearing one, in fact this is the only one that has ever come up for sale here on sales corner. It’s a great summertime watch although I’m wearing it on these freezing cold days to at least give the mood of sunshine......

    Some much better pictures the seller with his kind permission;

    And the Zenith Doublematic I recently bought.

    This is the Rainbow Flyback, picture from the web (not mine).

    Wow, the yellow dial Zenith is the first chronograph that has tickled my itch. Very pretty.

    Very nice indeed, always good to follow your own path.

    Love both those watches, although I'm not sure I could live with the mango dial without replacing my entire wardrobe.

    I’m pleased to admit that I don’t own any Mango coloured shirts to match it.
