Thread: I need a musky perfume recommendation

I need a musky perfume recommendation

My wife for years only used to wear Givenchy Organza Indecence. It must not be produced now since in the last few years the supply has almost dried up and it's just impossible to find now at a decent price.

A description I've found says, "An oriental, spicy and woody fragrance Organza Indecence is a blend of uniquely refreshing cinnamon, assertive jacaranda wood, sensual musk and amber and the additive patchouli."

Note it's the Indecence version of Organza, there is another Givenchy Organza that is completely different, which I learnt to my cost one Christmas.

She has tried Chloe and a couple of others, but none she likes as much.

Any hidden fragrance experts on the forum? Or anyone's other half posts on the perfume equivalent of tz-uk?

    It's this one

Have a scroll through the fragrantica reviews and you may get find a similar replacement scent.
There's a few available on eBay/Amazon I guess it depends on how much you want to pay.

I felt sure Dave-O would know the answer to this.

I can recommend Chanel No 5 provided you mix it with Fevertree tonic.

There is a few Jo Malone woody scents

Namely - Black cedarwood and Juniper or Wood sage and sea salt .

Other than that - you could try the John lewis frangrance selector where you can filter by notes.

Views seem to be that it is very similar to Kenzo Jungle l'Eléphant, Feminite du Bois by Shisheido and Casmir by Chopard.

Terre d'hermes or Ralph Lauren safari for men.

I would imagine it's toward the heady opium type fragrances or some of Tom Fords (velvet orchid etc) not Terre d Hermes which is quite summery. But then you are paying more or the same for a replacement of what you originally wanted!

Try Ysatis by Givenchy, from your description this could be a suitable alternative.

    This ^^^

Go in somewhere like JL and try the various Jo Malone's. You'll find one she likes.

Excellent, thank you for all the suggestions, plenty there to hopefully find something she likes.

For anything musky/woody I recommend Montale - a small french outfit. Not cheap though and I suggest trying them out first. They can be quite intense.
