    Any heating engineers in need advice

    I have an old central heating boiler that needs changing , and it is on the list as having asbestos in it. (gloworm space saver mk1),how do you approach these jobs does a specialist firm have to remove it

    I think the asbestos is in the combustion seals for the space saver, as long as those aren't disturbed you should be ok.

    My parents just had one of these replaced and didn't mention it needed specialist handling. It lasted 25 years without a single issue until it went pop a few weeks ago. Quite incredible

    Probably best to contact British Gas as they will know for sure.

    I had one replaced a few months ago and the installer didn't mention anything.
    Had lasted the best part of 30 years without issue but eventually the heat exchanger got clogged and it got noisy.
