Not in my experience - a flat I have had terrible condensation issues (even on the exterior facing walls) leading to mold where tenants weren't managing it. The pump displaces moist air, so helps significantly. They also have a temperature cut off, so don't run all year (not needed in the warmer months).

Looks interesting - where are you ducting it to, inside the house?

Let us know how effective you find it?

They install it in the loft, duct into a ceiling space in landing on first floor.

I’ve been quoted some ridiculous prices for installation for what is a £400 unit. Some have quoted £1k+ including the unit. Ridiculous and not paying that for what is no more than a 2/3 hour installation job.

If anyone on this forum is a qualified electrician within the north west London area, with some experience in fitting NuAire products, please give me a shout!

It’s less than2/3 hours. I think I paid £150. No experience is necessary of fitting them. Cut a hole in the ceiling, fused spur in loft and that about it. You shouldn’t be paying anywher3 near £400 either.

Thanks Craig! £150? Phew, that’s a massive relief. Something didn’t seem right when they quoted me £1k!

As for the product itself, I was looking at the Heat version, which is a little more:

The Drimaster is a great system and will have an impact on the condensation. However, it won't address the draughts and may even be less effective if there is a constant supply of cold, moist air getting into the house. Fitting a proper draught excluder on the timber door frame should be a priority, together with the Crittal frames.
Heavy, thermal lined curtains will provide a degree of insulation, but will tend to trap cold, moist air between them and the glazing / wall, reducing the effectiveness of the Drimaster system to keep the windows clear of condensation. You should keep secondary glazing on your list of priorities, particularly as older Crittal frames have zero thermal breaks. Also consider your appliances - gas produces a lot of moisture, so electric would be a better choice where condensation is an issue. Ensure you have good extraction systems in the 'wet areas', kitchen and bathrooms.

Better known as council estate double glazing when I was a kid most of the estate had it!
We used to put an hairdryer on it later to tighten it up. I recommended this idea to a young lad that works for me as his bedroom at home is not double glazed.
