    Sub Mariner Bracelet

My Sub dates fron 1985 and as you would expect the bracelet has a fair amount of stretch. The watch will going to my grandson when I pop my clogs and as I did not wear it much I am thinking now is the time to get it restored.

Can the the guys in the know recommend who to send it to for this work and does anyone know circa what the cost would be. Also would it be better to get it serviced at the same time. It was completely rebuilt and overhauled by Rolex in 2008 but obviously they did not touch the bracelet.

    Many thanks Paul

If you want a top class job done in the UK it’s got to be Seth.

Is that a barrier to getting a good job done?

The Watch Dealer is his website, he is on the forum as watchcollecter, very highly respected and excellent at Rolex bracelet restoration.

Seth is your man. Mr Young completely ruined a 93150 that I sent to him.

Did you put up a thread on here, if so have you a link (no pun intended).

I bought a sub and the bracelet had just been refurbished by Mr Young at a cost of £300+ and there were light depressions in the clasp, I keep meaning to send it to Seth to put right.

I think it must have gone to one of his workers because it was very badly marked where the links get pulled apart and the tool had not gripped correctly I guess. PM me if you like.

I purchased a 5513 this year which came with a recent Rolex service receipt including a fair amount of work on the bracelet.
Here’s a pic of their charges.
Hopefully will be of some use in figuring out costs:

If Rolex charge that much for a repair.

What is the cost of a new bracelet?

  20. #20
its nice to repair the original bracelet that came with the watch... on the other had a new 93150 might be a wee bit more only

tend to be @600-900 on the second hand (as new) market

I think a new complete 93150 bracelet is £900 from Rolex UK.

    Used both

I’ve had two bracelets done by M Young and both were fantastic and I’ve now got my wife’s Yachtmaster with Seth before it gets sold so I’ll be able to let you know when it comes back!
So far his communication and knowledge has proved pretty good and he does not overdo what’s needed, plus the costs are very resonable although I am getting the bracelet done, bezel redone, new crystal and a full service!!

I really didn’t want to send to HK and Rolex direct last time incurred loads of extras and took ages!!!

My 91350 is on its way back from Hong Kong and this is the first time Ive heard any negative comments about the Michaels work, in fact I sent it to him based on the overwhelming positive feedback here and elsewhere...so once it arrives Il let you know the results. By the way, I didnt check but would be surprised if a new bracelet is £900 can anybody confirm that; the refurb of mine was $270 US and I bought a second hand one with a fair level of stretch for £500 quite recently.

I purchased a brand new 91350 bracelet, end links and clasp from Rolex st james end of last year for £850 inc VAT.

I think for anyone considering purchasing a stretched one and having It refurbed is better off purchasing a brand new one.

If you could give a review re Seths work on your bracelet that would be great.

I like you did not fancy sending it all the way to HK and as you say send it to Rolex and you may as well buy a new bracelet

Couldn't agree more, I should have been more diligent when looking and not relying on the idiots at Goldsmiths to call me back with a price..which they never did

I would have thought so, why send the head?

I would even keep the end links back.

The benefits of forums like this is that you get educated for free and learning about Seth on this thread is one of these lessons, Ive been in touch and will send my two Oysters off to him this week for a refurb. Very reasonable prices and will be interesting to see how my HK based refurb looks when it turns up hopefully tomorrow.

My 5513 bracelet arrived back from HK today, looks to be exactly as I had expected and no signs of stretch or dents in the clasp any longer - looks very nice on the 5513.

I got my bracelet back from Seth today and I am seriously impressed.

The jubilee wasn’t the worst I have ever seen, but was seriously stretched.

Apologies for the quality of the shots, but here is a before and after. It really does look amazing.
