Hi Dan,
Commiserations at falling off the wagon; but congratulations on picking up the Glycine - I snagged a Purist a few months back.
My first Glycine and a great little watch with some history behind it.

... for my wallet.
Like a recovering addict, I managed to spend a couple of years visiting TZ-UK less regularly and as a result I accrued fewer watches... which was better for my bank balance.
Well, I have fallen off the wagon.
I am not necessarily talking about SC either, just reading about new models and models I didn't know about makes me realise that I don't have them, and like a magpie I want them.
Since "falling off the wagon" a few weeks ago, I have purchased;
- A very lovely Glycine Airman No. 1 (non purist) from a forum member
And from retailers
- A Seiko PADI Turtle
- A Seiko PADI Solar
- A Seiko PADI Solar titanium, ltd edition
- A Seiko PADI Sumo, ltd edition
Not to mention the acquisition of a further 9 straps from crafter blue to hand-made alligator and snake skin ones.
So here goes.
How does everyone else cope?My name is Dan and I am a WISaholic......

They are stunning. Mine has the black dial, but the white looks awesome too. I had an alligator bund strap made for it to overcome the size (they are a tad small for me at 6ft5 and 120kg!). The bund strap is lovely and serves to provide a little more wrist presence...
...but in true addict form... I couldn't decide between black or brown.... so I got both (nice to have choice!)
You have my sympathy, I know whereof you speak. Since joining this forum my collection has doubled in number, and as for the straps...... Now feeding my strap addiction with Toshi.

Toshi straps are great, aren't they?
.....Also certain members don't help, like Jocke (sorry for naming and shaming, but I feel other members should be warned)... filling the forum up with their filthy watch porn. Making an already stunning and desirable watch look other-worldly in its appeal!
4 padis? Not WISaholic PADIHolic.

Yes, I think it is fair to say that the PADI's do hold a certain appeal to me... but a couple of minor corrections
1) That is 4 newly acquired PADI's... I also have one of the older Orient PADI editions... so 5 total! (heck, 3 of which are still in the post).
2) Even with 5 PADI's, that still only accounts for <10% of my hoard... so definitely WISaholic AND PADIaholic!
It will come as no surprise that I am also considering adding a SUN065P1 to the collection. I am undecided on the looks of the SBBN039 and I don't like the SRPA83J1... just to cover off the rest of the PADI range ;-)

I am on that rocky road, but doubling in 6 months is severe. Especially as I bought no 5 just beside joining the forum.

It is bad for the wallet for sure, but great for meeting (mostly) fellow minded decent folk smitten with their own horological curse. No one knows where it ends, good luck on your (endless) quest.
I have no sympathy. Well maybe a little. I used to think I was a recovering addict. But this past 12 months have probably been my worst ever. I'm not going to list the watch and watch related purchases, but needless to say, I had planned to buy a brand new car cash with the money, and now it is spent, so back to saving again!
The problem with Sales Corner is that all too often a watch comes along that you've been looking out for at a bargain price but when it's least convenient to purchase.
Sounds like a plan. Or maybe just a thread in the Bear Pit.
It’s not just SC, which can be hazardous to the wealth by itself, it’s also the heads ups and Friday threads that show all the lovely watches I covet and then crumble when savings allow!
It's just a matter of time...
Definitely bad for the wallet but why 4 PADI''s???
This site has also got me a Glycine Airman No. 1 non-purist and I've only been here two months! Not to mention five new watch straps, and a want list that has been at 1 for the past few years, and has increased five fold
A fair question to be sure, but honestly...
[hangs head on shame]I have no good answer.[/hangs head in shame]
My not so good answer, however, is:
I purchased the turtle first, simply because it took my fancy and wasn't a lot of money. Seemed like good value and worth a try.
I then purchased the non limited PADI solar as I wanted to see how it handles being filled with oil (it arrived yesterday, and has already had the oil-filled treatment... so far so good).
Now on to the more absurd reasons:
I purchased the Sumo because I recently purchased a beautiful Sumo strap via SC, and I (obviously) therefore needed a Sumo to go with the strap. I have had 'regular' Sumo's before, and wanted an LE. The PADI association obviously appeals to me... so that's that. Originally I was hoping the Sumo strap might fit something else in my collection, but sadly it doesn't.
And the LE Solar.... erm, well.... because it came up as a suggested item when I was at the checkout with the Sumo, and it looked pretty. *hangs head in shame again*
At least I saved on combined shipping, right?..... that makes it OK, right?..... right?

I’ve just restarted visiting this forum after a seven years break and in the few months I’ve been back I’ve bought a PAM25 & a Rolex Deepsea. It definitely feeds addictions by normalising them!
