Got out this beauty for today :-)

Sorry the date is completely wrong but you can’t set it as much as it needs to be without feeling like you’re not doing the movement any favours...

I notice Benedict Cumberbatch is a JLC brand ambassador. Is this the new 'thing' were Tudor ahead of the trend?

I would say not no. This sort of thing has been going on for years but the silver dialed boutique edition of the JLC Perpetual calendar was featured prominently in "Doctor Strange", which I think was in 2016. David Beckham as a brand ambassador for Tudor was 2017.

'Brand Ambassadors' are nothing new, they've been around for years.
On a superset note I really like the PolAris range coming out from JLC this https://www.revolution.watch/sihh-20...aris-new-icon/

All three are winners in my book. My aim is the black dialled PC but wondering if the silver dial should still be on my list!

Suppose so. I just guess in this social media age it's changed a bit. I learned of this on Instagram!

You can go back to the early '70s at least - with the likes of Jackie Stewart and Rolex.

(not sure if he was one of their first, but he continued with them for decades)

A word to the wise. A few years ago I sent a Master Perpetual back to JLC via an AD for service. 750 pound and a few months later I got it back. All was well until a couple of years after it never clocked the leap year change, which it obviously should have. Back to JLC and they tried it on with 'The warranty is only for 1 year sir" I argued the case that it must be proven over a normal year plus a leap year period whenever that be. They eventually agreed to fix it foc. While it was way the second time they got in touch and asked if I'd like a new dial fitted (expensive) I declined, the dial was perfect anyway. It all left a bitter taste so I moved the watch on soon after. Still have a SS Master and a RG Reverso though - they are very desirable and technically great watches despite the foregoing. I've watched the gyrotourbillon video many times on You-Tube, its mesmerizing!

Loving the Duo, if (or more honestly) when I move my 8day on that's what will replace it, although I do prefer a bracelet and I'm not sure if the grand duo was ever offered with one?
Anyway I'm wearing this for now and still loving it.Attachment 13473

I keep jonesing a Reverso, but it’s stories like this about Richemont’s infamously p*ss-poor service that keep holding me back.

I’m really hoping that I can save up and get myself an ultra thin master towards Christmas this year. Absolutely love that watch!

Very nice it is too . The Grande Duo didn’t come with a bracelet option but given that is big lug to lug that’s probably a good thing.
