    And the Rolex profiteering continues

Found this in Berrys Nottingham at lunch. Almost £16K are they kidding! I have my name down for one of these and some ticket tout clone does this. Aaarrrggh!!!

Would you honestly want to wear that? I mean, just look at it. What a design mess.

Doesn’t matter what you think, someone will part with sixteen grand for it and many more for RRP. I wouldn’t buy it either, but not because of its looks.

The white dial does look a little sterile for me. That said, the blue dial version is a much better looking watch, but it isnt for me.

Price wise, no different to Ceramic Daytona, SD43 etc, someone has flipped for a quick profit.

I like them. Granted I prefer the SS/WG models, particularly the black dial.

    I’d wear one and I don’t think it’s a design mess!

I don’t mind that, at least it’s different. It’s worth what someone will pay for it, presumably Berry’s have priced it accordingly. They’ve also got a platinum Daytona for about £50k

I realise that everybody has different tastes, but if I saw that watch with a no-name brand on the dial, I wouldn't give you a fiver for it.

On the plus side though, at least it's not quite as ugly as a Nautilus!

Can't say I want one but looks like a Datejust with an extra dial in the middle.

But at least it's bigger and more expensive than a DJ, in addition to being much worse looking.

Asymmetry to some people's eyes is as outrageous as a ladies ankle to a Victorian gent. Personally, I love this design, since first I clapped my eyes on it. At 42mm the white dial is going to wear huge so in my fantasies I have to forego that one and settle for the sunburst black. Mmm, fantastic. Perfect daily wearer.

Just checked my phone - in the folder of watches I daydream about, I've nine photos of this saved 😃

  18. #18
I am in the 'love it' camp, in blue or black ideally, fluted bezels have always done it for me

  19. #19
In my eyes at least the black dial is much more aesthetically pleasing than the white one, but £15K!

Really want to try the blue dial before committing. Easy said than done given the none existent stock levels.

I have tried the white gold version and boy was that heavy!

Just love that white dial. Have tried a yellow gold one and was blown away buy the class.
Would love one, steel or gold, but it just doesn't look like it's going to happen, no stock at my local AD, they have had a blue steel and a blue bi metal, they don't think anymore this year. Now I'm not sure that's good or bad news.

They can ask what they like. Someone will either suck it up and pay to skip the wait or laugh in their faces.

I don't mind them. Prefer the blue or black dials though.

  24. #24
I love the blue dial and that's the one that I bought.

It's an Annual calendar from Rolex, in steel for a bargain price. What's not to like?

And an integrated one with a brilliant and unlimited-setting operating mechanism at that, rather than the typical half-baked module with awkward and delicate pusher-based adjustment.

Hmmmmmm, what is the point of annual calendar watches for people on forums like this who typically wear watches in rotation? Unless you store it on a watch wider your going to have to constantly re-set it, are you not?

Very true, and that's why the ring command is so good. Very fast and easy to set and no 'danger' areas when setting either

True but if we take this to it’s logical conclusion, most should be just happy with a manual time only.

I also still not a fan of the skyd, looks like a busy and large datejust but not in a good way.

My brother was in Goldsmiths and sent me a photo of this watch asking "What kind of c*nt would wear this?".

I guess life would be less interesting if we all liked the same things.

    Agreed, a rare handsome Rolex.

Can't figure out why it's got a picture of a Borg Sphere on it though.

Sky Dweller doesn`t appeal to me in the slightest, but some folks like 'em. People's tastes are very different.

Can`t help thinking the Rolex name helps with this one.

Resetting it takes about 30 seconds. I like the whole process. I also like winding my pre-moon Speedy each morning. Quite therapeutic. And as others have said, getting an annual calendar in a steel watch for just over £10k is a bargain (relatively speaking) in my book.

If I had a spare £10k-odd and a free pass to the front of the waiting list, I’d happily be one of those c*nts!!!

I was offered a black dial today. Shame, as my money is hanging out for the lovely blue sunburst.

Surprised that these have a premium. Sat in the cabinet at Schiphol for a week. If any member wants it at the ticket price let me know as I am possibly there again next week.
