    Mondaine backlight

    I hadn't seen this before! It looks quite cool and keeps the iconic design intact. I wonder if it's actually all that effective for telling the time at night though—I can't find any 'real life' lume photos.

    I haven't seen that before either. It's novel and I like it for the different factor.
    I still just look at my phone at night though. Like the worst watch nerd ever.

    That lower image looks unreal big time. Like the difference idea, but if they have to use a photoshop image to demonstrate it.......

    Is it tritium lume or Superluminova type stuff. The former is going to be a bit faint, the latter difficult to charge as it's permanently in shadow.

    If it was tritium vials it would be quite bright.

    It's superluminova-type stuff. The marketing blurb talks about it being charged by reflection from the white face during the day.

    I'd like to see some real world photos to judge how it actually performs. My guess is not terribly well, unfortunately.
