Great story hope it's true?? Not a panerai expert by any means but I don't think it's real.... if it is real then best of luck to the seller!!!

It's a terrible fake. The story is rubbish too. Just more likely to sell a broken cheap panerai if he gives a bit of a tale with it

I know of no way to determine if the story is true from looking at the watch, but the watch is fake.

Sorry, yes that is of course correct. But if the watch is definitely fake, seems unlikely it would survive at the bottom of the sea as I assume fakes are not that waterproof

The listing has been removed now, but even not having seen it I'll hazard that both story and watch were fake.
