As I said, it is only a rumor at this time. However notable how weak bitcoin is today when the market is trading up, while over the last weeks it had a very high correlation with equities.

I also note this from their filing:

As with any investment and consistent with how we manage fiat-based cash and cash-equivalent accounts, we may increase or decrease our holdings of digital assets at any time based on the needs of the business and our view of market and environmental conditions,” the quarterly filing said.

Whilst I hadn't read through it to check I guessed there might be such a clause, or at any rate a close equivalent.

An early press release and the 10-Q now available from MicroStrategy for anyone interested enough to take up with their bed time cocoa.

    Microtragedy bitcoin cost price: $30,700
    Tezzler bitcoin cost price: $32,000
    Spot price bitcoin: $35,800

This could become very quickly very funny.

MSTR currently trading at the lowest price it has been since December 2020. (Only a couple of months after the first bitcoin purchase was made.)

Some crazy cheap bargains out there now.

Who’d have though 2 months ago, that you’d be able to buy COIN at $99 or Netflix at $180. ??

MSTR at $285 is an absolute steal, given that they hold nearly $6bn in BTC and their MCap is $3bn. (Let’s ignore the little bit of debt they also hodl)

SQ - Block at $88 was also a bargain. Watch that one shoot back to $140 on the next pump.

They hold 129,218 BTC, which at $35,800 are worth $4.6 bln. Against that, they are holding $2.4 bln debt, so a net value of $2.2 bln. Market cap is $3.3 bln, so you are paying $1.1 bln for a software business that managed to incur a $155 mio loss on revenues of $129 mio in Q1. Not enough, revenues are shrinking quarter over quarter and I am not even looking at which funky non-GAAP adjustments they have booked on these numbers or how many additional dilutive shares are going to hit the market going forward. Luckily they have no debt coming due until 2025, otherwise you could cut the shareprice in half immediately.

That company is a turd and if bitcoin drops a little further, the selloff will accelerate into the abyss.

If you look at Block's 2022 earnings estimates, they have come down by approximately 50% since their catastrophic Q3/21 earnings release (was $2.35 before, is $1.08 today). The share price has come down by approximately the same margin, so they are still trading at about 100 times 2022 earnings. Meantime, they have been busy issuing 25% new shares to their bagholders. But hey, they changed the name of the company and their blockhead has gone off the deep end, being fired from Twitter and accusing CNN of having created the Ferguson riots.

SQ will half again from here, and then again.

I don't do all-in. That's the reason why my portfolio is up from a year ago.

Do you know no what I call a stock that's down 80% and then loses another 50%?
    - A stock that is down 90%.

It’s about 95% down from all time high. But it’s all fine, didn’t bet the farm on it.

Serious question: they never bought more than the $1.3bln (=13% of $10bln) and went through all of that today to try and defend the UST peg?

I am honestly surprised that crypto trading by and large is still so orderly given that this has nuclear meltdown potential. Any view?

I think so.. I did have decent exposure to UST for the juicy yield but switched it to USDC once their interest cover was below 40 days. Apparently they have 'loaned' read:liquidated their BTC to defend the peg but not sure it will hold. This is a huge test for the Luna/Terra ecosystem and if it fails.. will have big repercussions for the entire space.

For now, I'm just waiting for the capitulation before buying back BTC/ETC.. not even sure it's even started so far. My sense is most ppl just waiting and this is not yet panic.

Thanks. I am flabbergasted that we haven't hit panic levels yet, especially considering the huge sell order (which is obviously only feeding into UST, but still).

I bought Nasdaq earlier for an expected bounce, but given the recent super-high correlation I think I'd rather close that again before everything flushes. Oh, Saylor....
