We found a good local appliance place that supplies and repairs and tend to get whatever they supply as I prefer supporting local companies and their service is great, been around for years.
We ended up with a Bosch, they'd happily supply a Miele too if we wanted to pay. Both are fairly repairable so can be kept running. Not had any problems with the Bosch despite giving it an absolute hammering with 2 kids on re-usable nappies. Also had AEG in the past which was expensive but reliable.

A colleague at work told me her dishwasher and boiler both went pop at the weekend. She ordered a new dishwasher then realised the biker wasn’t working so kicked the dishwasher in frustration - at which point it lurched back into life and seems to be functioning perfectly. Nothing like a kick to fix white goods!

Buy a Miele. Got mine several years ago and it came with manufacturers ten year parts and labour warranty. Bloody thing has been faultless - and I love to fix things.
The point with these machines is you can get proper individual spares for them. So if you do need a drum bearing, for example, you don't have to buy the whole drum assembly which would write off a lesser machine.
Yes, twice or, more, the price of a basic one, but the ease of ownership is worth it.
Oh, they don't set fire to your house either.

Had an Ariston once and it truely did go on and on. Best machine I ever had by a mile. Bosch machine was trash as was a Hoover machine. Has a dirt cheap bush fot 4 years, great value for money. Now using a dyson, must say it’s incredibly quiet and fast, VERY impressed so far, let’s see how long it lasts...
Just replaced our Siemens with a Samsung add wash, came out as Best Buy in Which survey.
The five year warranty & free delivery were a bonus
