Cousins UK straps - anything better for value??

    Hi guys

I have bought a number of straps from Cousins over past year or so. All but 1, I have been amazed with each purchase for just how good the straps are for the money you pay.

Most of them are around £5, and for that kind of beer money, I don't think you can go wrong. I have been tempted by some Collarebs (sp?), but at 1/4 or even 1/5 of the price, I always seem to go back to Cousins.

My latest love are their 'vintage', seen below, a mustard on an seagul I'm wearing today.

Other than Cousins, are there any other recommendations out there? or can someone suggest anything better value / band per buck?

Cousins are the best value I've found. There are a few ebay vendors knocking out the same straps at a pound or so more expensive but buying from source is of course better value.

If I'm in market for a new strap, Cousins is my first stop. Have bought too many to count over the years. Quality has always been excellent. I always buy two of each! Their parallel Croc grain in brown, for example, is a favourite and a nicer (richer) colour than Hirsch.

As mentioned, an ebay browse often throws up the same straps with a nice markup.

Cousins wins hands down for NATO straps. Of course there are better out there, and the cousins ones wear out a bit quickly, but I like the idea of getting so many straps and not worrying if they don't match the watch.

Get them made to order? Aren't there a few people here who happily make straps in the sizes you want out of whatever leather you want it made out of?

They are under the 'smooth strap' category section under straps. I have a grey vintage one.

Good strap as said for the money.

Any supplier who does not charge a minimum of £4 for UK postage is OK by me.

What you have to remember with postage costs is the total cost involved, it isn`t just the actual postage. Someone has to physically pack the item, someone has too take it to the post, packing materials have to be paid for. People don`t work for free, ask yourself how much you would be charging if you were running a business, or how about calculating the time involved and paying yourself your own hourly rate?

Some organisations hike up postage costs to make more money, but there is a 'real' cost involved. It's OK for those of us who do these things as a hobby, I usually charge the postage plus the cost of an envelope but I don't count the time I spend preparing an invoice and doing the packing, not to mention the cost of driving to the post office and back.

The Chinese Ebayers are useful for one-off items.

Although I did need to wait 3-4 weeks for delivery.
