    TF Deluxe Nato question

Has anyone ever removed the "extra bit" from one of Eddie's deluxe Natos? I have a black/grey edged one on my Voyager and fancy one of the new blue ones, but they are G10 only, no RAF pattern. I'm wondering how the braided edge would fare if cut. I suspect it might fray but I'd be happy to be proven wrong.

Can you not just seal it with heat, e.g. wafting a flame over the cut edge? It's what I've done successfully on other NATOs.

Indeed, I've cut many myself and used flame on them. I just thought I'd ask in case that braided edge would come away if cut, and avoid potentially chucking £12 away. The de luxe in RAF trim is just the right thickness and height for the Voyager for me, the G10 style would cause the watch to sit far too high for my taste.
