    New Cocktail Time

Seiko have launched a new Cocktail Time, Ice Blue dial “Sky Diving” I think it would have looked better with the deep blued hands. But I’m really liking the look of this. Images off the net.

You can find them for sale at John Lewis, which should make it easier to try it on. Available online too (but currently out of stock).

Also comes in a brown dial version.

    Nice!

Hopefully in real life, the hands will reflect enough light to actually stand out from rather than blend into the dial as these photos show. Agree with your suggestion of blued hands being better. Love the dials though.

They don't.. they blend in with the dial especially under strong light (i.e Sun).
Being a dress watch, it wasn't design for legibility and as far as i'm concern it doesn't bother me at all.. it's a lot of watch for the money given how much work they put onto that dial.

    New Cocktail Time

This is the one I like , with the date complication and power reserve . And these are great value watches for the money compared to most Watches out there

Sorry , not a great picture

I love the ice blue dial but am a bit confused.
I can see the three-hander and the date/power reserve models but are some of these the ice blue dial and some are the white?

Can someone help with the model references for both ice blue dial models? Thanks!

Nice piece however I wish they'd made the crown a bit smaller

I quite like the new blue one, but again the crown just puts me off

I'd go for a NOS version of the old model, it did have the 6r15 movement fitted.
This has the cheaper 4r movement.

    Just my two cents though.
Got a new watch, divers watch it is, had to drown the bastard to get it!

    Interesting. Unimpressive cost-cutting.

Seiko have done this down grading from 6R15 to 4R36 quite a lot of late. Where they do use a 6R15 in recent releases, they are moving them into more upmarket and expensive pieces. Shame really as the 6R15 is a nice reliable movement. Having said that though, there is very little in it between the two and there haven't exactly been many complaints of the 4R36 in the hugely popular Turtle variations.

I have to say my turtle gains a solid 2 seconds a week when worn (!) and my recently purchased Samurai gains about 2 seconds a day. Both pretty impressive for such relatively cheap watches - winding is also super smooth and crown operation is altogether superior to the older monsters and 007’s I’ve had before. I’ve not bought a ‘dress’ watch in over 20 years but I saw the blue cocktail time in my local John Lewis and am sorely tempted. Looks fantastic in the metal

Do you remember what the price was in John Lewis, and which store?

It’s on their app - so available at any store I think - £329 but showing out of stock right now
