Is the Bucherer Black Bay Bronze Blue worth a premium

Been fancying a Black Bay Bronze for a while and on googling images came across a blue dial version rather than the usual brown. The blue dial looks ace and turns out to be a special edition for Bucherer. The retail seems to be the same but the asking price for the blue dial on the secondary market is substantially higher.
Now this is described as a special edition and not a limited edition, so is the premium worth paying

No Tudor is worth a premium imo, but if you like the blue, you should see if Bucherer have any still available. If they do, it would be a nice excuse for a weekend break somewhere to buy a watch. It’ll cost the same as buying one at premium and you’ll have a great memory of picking up your watch.

I'd suggest trying One on first if you can.

I've fancied a Black Bay Bronze for a while and happened upon an opportunity to try One last month.
Had to admit I didn't really like it in the flesh.

Doesn't look very brown to me.

I do quite like it, but I'd be hesitant about paying retail let alone a premium. I personally think the whole bronze thing is just a fad, and like faux aged lume, will rapidly go out of fashion.

That said, if you're not fussed about resale value then just buy it if you like it for the price.

"It is only available at Bucherer stores, located mostly in German, Switzerland, Austria and France. While supplies are somewhat scarce at the moment, the Black Bay Bronze Blue is not a limited edition, and will be available until at least mid-2018 when Bucherer celebrates its 130th anniversary."

EDIT: that info a bit out of date, see below

There is one for resale on a Tudor group on fb for quite a mark up but the point is that it was bought from Selfridges in London. Pic of receipt on post. Perhaps there is another if OP wants to contact Selfridges.

Bucherer now have a stores in the UK. I have my name down for one at their Covent Garden store (formally the Watch Gallery). They have a number of people on the list and are only expecting a small number of watches to come in before Christmas which have all been allocated. Anybody that adds their name now will be on the list for any allocation that comes in in the new year (although they don't know when that will be).

So I guess the premium isn't so much for the watch, as for jumping the queue, and only each individual purchaser knows whether or not that's "worth it". I guess to some people, the extra £££ are neither here nor there.

Is the Bucherer Black Bay Bronze Blue worth a premium

I have the Bronze Black Bay but if that Blue version had been available that would have been the one I would have gone for.

Also Bucherer have just taken over the Watch Gallery so you could ask them if they can source one for you?

If you buy from them, check carefully for damage.

I was looking at these recently, a decent looking watch from the pics but as others have said there's no way I'd pay a premium for one.
