Any pocket watch experts - advice tequested

I have this sorry looking pocket watch that my Mum has asked me to find out about. Been in the family since 1925 so I assume the watch was new then. The dial appears to be porcelain and the winder doesn't wind. So, a couple of queries if I may.....

Does anyone know what make/model this is?
    Any history on the manufacturer?
The movement has a Rolex marking but I'm assuming that it's just a part rather than a Rolex pocket watch?
Is it restorable? If so, how much would that cost?
Is there any value to the watch as it sits or when it's restored?
    Many thanks in advance!
    Steve

New in 1925 as you say, as the silver case (made by A.L. Dennison) was hallmarked at the Birmingham assay office in 1924. I imagine it was retailed by a Birmingham jeweller. It's a nice movement, but I suspect the only value today is sentimental or that of the scrap value of the silver in the case.

Lovely to see an old family heirloom. I think it is a Rolex movement as it looks just like this one to me, albeit this one is in a Rolex hunter.

I've had a couple of pocket watches restored. It has cost more than they are worth but worth it to me. That said pretty well everything seems fixable in the movement. The dial would be a lot harder and I would leave it personally.

I was thinking the exact same Paul. He seems to be the expert on this kind of thing

Looks pretty cool in my opinion, I like old pocket watches.

    This one is interesting.

I have a couple. A Omega from 1896 and a Lavinia from 1926 that a friend gave me before he passed away.

He picked them up his way though France to Germany in 1945. He was a fantastic chap, I miss him.

So many similar watches were dismantled for their cases' gold and silver content during the 1960s/70s/ 80s that there are likely lots of suitable replacement enamel dials available if you know where to look.

Regarding value this might serve as a very rough guide even though it's an ATP with a different movement - listed for at least a few weeks so might be a little on the high side - and more collectable than your example … so maybe divide the price by 10 assuming yours was fully refurbished??

Maybe not worth the cost of restoration?
