    Panerai at Mr Porter

Panerai have just landed on the Mr. Porter site.

Either they are expanding the success of the brand or they are struggling for sales via the boutiques etc and looking for a potential market.

That is pretty surprising although net-a-porter cover lots of high end jewellers

Its a great advert for both, those who like a quality time piece also appreciate the good clothes, whisky, wines etc

It's not that surprising when you consider that Richemont owns Panerai and (as far as I can tell) own 50% of Net-a-porter/Mr Porter.

Really can't see the attraction of Panerai watches. Desperate when they have to sell watches alongside underpants.

I guess you think Audemars Piquet, Jaegerr-LeCoultre, JLC & Blancpain are also desperate?

Just my opinion but permitting an AD to sell watches online cheapens the brand. I'm sure lots of people will disagree with this and that's fine, but it's a pretty common stance with Rolex, etc.

I suppose Mr Porter are the AD? Who stamps the papers?

Richemont own 50% of Net-a-porter group and obviously own Panerai so I guess they might see that watches go with nice clothes. I use Mr Porter quite a lot but I would not buy a Panerai watch from them - you are much better off buying from an AD where you can negotiate a discount.

Who's the AD in this situation? It's clear that they can see this as a way of the future - they clearly are starting to think like JCB that there are lots of young customers with money who will never go an AD... They will not be the last company to do this...
