    Good question this.

    I bought a pair of 'work trainers' off them a couple of years ago and they were shocking / appalling quality; sole split, inner liner was glued in and moved down into the shoe.

    I complained in detail (with photos) after a month.

    CT were extremely good, full refund provided (no need to return shoes).

    In the correspondence they stated;

    'the manufacturer is one of our many shoe suppliers and we are reviewing quality with them at present'

    From that, I suspect they have a few suppliers and I'm nearly 100% certain Barker is one (from another pair I have from them).

    If they are made by Loake, I wonder if it's here or in India? Do CT specify the country of origin?

    I bought some never worn , thanks to our crappy weather, deck shoes from CT last year and was told they were made for them by Loake.

    No idea if this was correct but they feel very nice :)

    If they cost less than £200, I'd have thought India.

    I had a look at some ct boots a while ago and their top of the range ones looked like the loake shoe maker line

    i'm sure someone said Barkers made the shoes. No source for that though.

    I had also heard Barker, again nothing to reference though.

    The above post saying many shoe suppliers would most likely reflect reality.

    As a big barker fan, I tend to stick with the Farley deals that appear very very often.

    They do have the made in India look or at least part cut and sewn there and finished here like the cheaper grensons and Whites you get in tkMaxx.
    Personally I would save and spend more on a decent pair of bench made Goodyear welted Northampton shoes.

    Give the Loake shop in Bath a call & ask for James, he’ll source you a pair.
