    Panerai straps ebay - fake?

Presume so, factory seconds always sets off alarm bells,

but can anyone more knowledgeable opine?

There isn't a factory in the world without a back door so it is theoretically possible that these are QC reject from the legit factory that are being 'diverted' before they get to the shredder/incinerator.
But I'd be astonished if these weren't simple fakes.

A couple of years ago I bought a rubber strap and deployment,I paid about £90 for the pair, the strap was decent and compared to my other you couldn't tell ,the deployment was decent but not as solid and after about a year signs of rust appeared around the moving parts .
Even if that strap is fake at £60 it's not bad,but there's loads of strap makers so I generally use them.

Panerai straps are made by Hirsch (at least they were a few years ago) and I have never come across 'seconds' of Hirsch branded straps. If Hirsch can keep tight control of any sub-standard items of their own brand, I would imagine that production for OEM branded items would be even more strictly policed.

Fake IMO. The OEM 24mm only have 5 loop stitches at lug end this has 6. Do global search and you'll probably find a Chinese seller selling identical.

QC might have picked up on the fact that the stamps on the back are noticeably skewiff.

Tons of these fakes easily available to get from sellers in China and other places, wouldn't trust them.
